Utah Jazz at Phoenix Suns Betting Preview

Utah and Phoenix will battle in a game that will have every eyeball on it on Wednesday night. These clubs own the top two records in the West, something that nobody could have expected prior to the year if they weren’t a fortune teller. The Lakers and Clippers, along with the Nuggets, do not have more wins than these Jazz and Suns teams.

Utah has gotten out to a 38-12 start by just doing everything right and limiting their mistakes in all areas. They have been making threes like some teams make free throws, sinking 17 in the first half of one of their recent games. And they have Jordan Clarkson coming off the bench and immediately bringing the spark, almost every single night. Add in Mike Conley, Joe Ingles, and Bogdan Bogdanovic to Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert, and you’re stacked.

Phoenix, on the other hand, was expected to be a much better team with the addition of Chris Paul. But who could have foreseen them being 35-14 to this point in the season? It has been a joy to watch them, and it does finally look like Devin Booker will appear in the playoffs. It is about time on that front, as the All-Star backcourt leads the way.

ODDS: The spread is currently set at Utah -2, while the over/under is sitting at 225.5 points.

Jazz Seeking Win No. 39

In what has been a year full of ups, Utah might run into a bit of a challenge against the Suns. They have got the talent to go head-to-head with any team, as we have learned this year, but when you face another star-studded squad, star players might not always be enough to help you get over the hump and win.

The battle inside between Ayton and Rudy Gobert is going to be fun to watch, as each serves as a dynamic presence around the rim on the defensive end. And on the offensive end, Ayton has more of a post-game, while Gobert is simply all about the dunks and put back layups. And then Booker and Mitchell will each be hitting big shots.

At the end of the day, Utah can win two ways. One is with their three-point barrage, and two is having Joe Ingles outperform Mikal Bridges on both ends of the floor.

Phoenix Seeking Win No. 36

It has been a great year for the Suns, and to those that have been with the organization in some capacity for the last decade, this season has been for them. For those that have stuck around through the misery, the “I Don’t Wanna Be Here” from Eric Bledsoe, and other misfortunes. Booker is still here, and they’re winning.

There will be no more rumors of trading him, as #1 will be a Sun for many years to come. Trading Ricky Rubio for Chris Paul turned out to be one of the best moves made by any GM all offseason. Give James Jones credit, as it’s never easy to trade a quality guard in the NBA.

CP3 made another All-Star game, has given Booker his best sidekick and is making sure to keep the team locked in on both ends of the floor.

Phoenix can win this game with their defense and making sure to win the turnover battle.

Jazz Get the Win

It will be a fun contest that will end with the Jazz winning it. Sorry, Suns.
