Saturday morning in the United States will have plenty of fight fans waking up early and enjoying some great UFC fights with their morning coffee. The UFC is back in Singapore with a free-to-watch event filled with tons of great matchups.
Max Holloway is set to face The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung, in the main event bout in what seems to be the Zombie’s retirement fight. Even though this is probably the toughest matchup Sung Jung could have at this point, you can’t count out that man.
Let’s take a closer look at this Saturday morning fight and figure out who you should place your bets on.
Max Holloway – Path to Being Undeniable
Holloway has been through a lot over the last few years. From being the consensus GOAT of the UFC featherweight division to losing three fights to Alexander Volkanovski. Now, it’s time for Holloway to take it all in and start his trek back to the top.
He has to know that he isn’t just going to get a fourth fight with Volkanovski; he needs to be undeniable. He hinted at this with a new YouTube series titled “UNDENIABLE ARC,” probably meaning exactly what we are talking about here.
The Hawaiian former champion might have a long road, but he has all the talent and tools to dominate every step of the way. It’s not often you see an athlete who deserves to be the greatest of all time, but another man is that at the same time as him.
Holloway is going to be better in just about every exchange with The Korean Zombie this weekend, fighting with the heavy heart of his homeland being devastated by fires in recent weeks.
Chan Sung Jung – The Korean Zombie’s Retirement
Even though this might be his retirement fight, Chan Sung Jung didn’t ask for an easy opponent. He has always wanted to test himself against the best, and that’s what he’s doing. In his home region of the world, Jung will be fighting with a lot of motivation and support from the crowd.
It’s just really tough to find a path to victory for The Korean Zombie. He will need to get his timing down quickly and mix in wrestling. If he stands in front of Holloway, he will get his head boxed off, and it will be a very difficult thing to watch.
One thing that is guaranteed is that Zombie will show up in shape and ready to go to war on fight night.
Holloway vs. Sung Jung Pick and Prediction
After breaking down as much film as possible and looking at this matchup on paper, the only prediction to make is Holloway getting his hand raised on Saturday. He is too good in every aspect of MMA now to pick against him against anybody but Alexander Volkanovski.
Hopefully, Holloway will not need to land too many shots on The Korean Zombie, but he will be able to do just about anything he wants in the octagon. It’s always a treat to watch Holloway fight in there and put on the performances he does.
