UFC Fight Night 170 on ESPN+ has another excellent lightweight main event title fight. This one will be featuring Kevin Lee and Charles Oliveira. The event will be held at the Ginasio Nilson Nelson in Brasilia, Brazil, on Saturday.

The Fighters
Kevin “The Motown Phenom” Lee (18-5-0) is ranked eighth in the lightweight division rankings. His fights have accumulated him eight wins by submission and seven by decision.
In those fights, it seems that he aims for a submission victory, and they turn out in the end to be decision wins. Judging by those wins, he has shown that he has the stamina and strength to last all the rounds in his fights and is not afraid of the ground game.
Lee also has a reach of about 77 inches.
Charles “Do Bronx” Oliveira (28-8-0) is currently ranked 13th in the lightweight division rankings. With his five-fight winning streak, he now has 18 wins by submission and seven by knockout.
He has made himself known to be deadly once he takes his opponents to the ground. His toughness is something a lot of fighters fear, especially once he takes them to the ground.
He also has a reach of about 74 inches and has not affected him a lot against other fighters.
Potential Outcome
I can see this fight going in a few different directions. Based on their stats, they both have a lot of experience handling submission wins, great grappling accuracies, and takedowns. This could be a wrestler lover’s dream fight right here.
They also have the potential to turn this into a boxing match, since they both are well-versed on the ground neither one of them may be able to submit the other successfully.
If you look at Kevin Lee, he has the reach advantage over Oliveira but only by about three inches. He also has a better takedown average and wastes no time in taking his opponents to the ground. However, Oliveira’s submission average is a lot better than Lee’s.
Once Oliveira can get his opponents to the ground, he moves faster than anyone to get that submission victory and end the fight.
So with this information in mind, you can see the fight could be a ground battle. With both of these guys showing off their talents as submission artists, you can expect a little better results, hopefully in betting.
With all of that being said, I still think Charles Oliveira will be able to seal the deal and claim victory.
I am not completely sold on Oliveira submitting Lee, but I do think he will get a decision victory. Lee has a strong as an ox takedown defense at 81 percent, so Oliveira is going to have to work for this one, but he has the experience needed to successfully win.
