Tampa Bay Rays vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Game 2 Betting Preview

The second game of the World Series matchup is set to be played at Globe Life Park as the Rays look to bounce back. As soon as Cody Bellinger’s 2-run home run came off the bat, it was clearly going to be a dinger. That would mark two of the eight runs the team would put up.

In the fifth, the Dodgers offense destroyed Tyler Glasnow, working walk after walk, before starting to hit balls in play. Their patient approach began to pay dividends for them after failing to put any runs on the board the first time through the lineup.

Tampa Bay, on the other hand, has a lot of work to do. They produced just three runs and were never in the game after the third.

They will need a better performance from Blake Snell than they got from Glasnow. Luckily, they didn’t have to use too many of their top bullpen arms, so they will have access to all of the top guys.

Game 2 is set to start at 8:08 pm ET.

ODDS:

The moneyline on the Rays is set at +128, while it’s -150 for the Dodgers. The over/under is set at eight runs.

Rays Look to Even Series

Tampa Bay’s 2008 run to the Fall Classic was a special one, but the Phillies disposed of them pretty quickly. After falling by way of an 8-3 defeat, the Rays will need to quickly bounce back to avoid a similar performance. They have the tools for it.

They are a terrific defensive team, led by CF Kevin Kiermaier, known for robbing hits all over the place. They also have Joey Wendle making the art of the diving stop something everybody wants to work on in their own backyard.

Those are just two of many guys they have who can really get it done. Tampa Bay will need to score five or more runs to have a chance.

Snell will get the nod for the Rays. He has posted a 2-2 record in four starts this postseason, never logging more than five and two-thirds innings.

Dodgers Looking for 2-0 Lead

After falling short of expectations the past three years, the LA Dodgers looked very comfortable as they cruised to a Game 1 win. Clayton Kershaw reminded folks that he can have a dominant performance at any time, and Mookie Betts had Red Sox fans crying with his base-stealing and home runs.

There aren’t many weaknesses in this Dodger lineup, with talented players from top to bottom. Cody Bellinger and Betts lead the way, with the likes of Corey Seager and Justin Turner also delivering timely hits throughout. They need this win as a 2-0 series lead against Tampa Bay would be significant.

Tony Gonsolin will make his third appearance of the playoffs. He pitched twice against the Braves, going six and a third innings, striking out eight, walking six, and allowing seven runs.

Rays Even It Up

A win is coming for the underdogs. Snell will outduel Gonsolin to lift the Rays to a narrow victory! 1-1.
