Jimmy Garoppolo seems poised and ready for a huge season in his second year with the 49ers. Garoppolo was a perfect 5-0 last season as the San Francisco quarterback after joining the team right before the trade deadline. The Niners gave Garoppolo a huge contract this offseason and the team is his for the foreseeable future. Garoppolo threw for 1,560 yards and seven touchdowns in the final five games of the 2017 season.
San Francisco struggled to keep teams out of the end zone last season and didn’t do a ton to improve their roster in the offseason. The Niners allowed 23.9 points per game last season, despite having a veteran roster. If the Giants are going to upset the Vikings on Sunday, their defense will have to find a way to slow down the explosive Minnesota offense.
Vikings Roll In Opener
The 49ers have playoff hopes this season, but they are going to need to make big improvements on the defensive side of the football. Garoppolo should have a monster 2018 season, but he won’t be able to outscore the opponent. San Francisco faces a great Vikings team in the season opener.
Minnesota has lofty goals this season, and they have the roster to achieve these goals. The Vikings are absolutely loaded on both sides of the ball, and they should run away with the NFC North.
