NBA: Portland Trail Blazers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

Portland Heating Up

Damian Lillard is having a monster season for the Portland Trail Blazers. Lillard is one of the most underrated guards in all of the league. He is scoring more than 26 points per game, and getting help from his running mate C.J. McCollum, who is scoring 21 per game. Jusuf Nurkic is third on the team with 14 points and nearly 9 rebounds per game.

Portland is one of the top scoring teams in all of the league. During the four game winning streak, the Trail Blazers have scored 100+ in each. The big news was the Portland defense, which held the Jazz to 81 and Sacramento to 99. On the season, Portland is scoring 105.1 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 103.5 per game. The Trail Blazers are 6th in the league with just shy of 45 rebounds per game.

Timberwolves Without Butler

Minnesota is without their leading scorer Jimmy Butler, for what could be the rest of the regular season. Butler went down with a knee injury. The leading scorer is scoring 22 points per game in his first full season away from Chicago. Karl Anthony Towns is second in scoring with 20.3 per game.

Andrew Wiggins and Jeff Teague are next in the scoring department for the Timberwolves as they are combining for more than 30 points per game. The biggest set back for Minnesota has been their defense, which is allowing nearly 107 points per game. Minnesota is already ahead of their win total of a season ago, as they won 31 games.

Portland Trips Up Minnesota

We look forward to this Western Conference basketball game late on Thursday night. The Timberwolves have been an interesting team to follow, and with compete health are a ton to beat out of the Western Conference. Minnesota will be an interesting team to follow in the postseason.
