WSOPE Main Event Day 2A

111 poker players with dreams of winning it all were sitting at the table for day 2a action at the World Series of Poker Europe. Some of the greatest names in poker are still vying for the coveted WSOP bracelet as well as the £1 million guarantee money to the winner courtesy of Betfair. Only 40 will survive this day though so the question is which amateur and poker pro will be going home today.

The big announcement overnight was that Betfair, the WSOPE sponsors, had added almost £57,000 to the overall prize pool guaranteeing the winner £1 million. Before the dealing started, WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, told all the players.

The top 36 players are paid in this main event, with 40 surviving this day, there will be some major moves trying to be made.

Some of the notables not moving on after today are, Erik Seidel who was all in pre-flop with a pair of tens only to run into a pair of queens, Chris Ferguson was all I with AQ and the bad boy himself Phil Hellmuth called with AT, Phil spiked a ten and Chris was sent to the rail. Other notables eliminated were Beth Shak, Brian Townsend, Humberto Brenes, Ram Vaswana, Greg Raymer, Chris Bjorin and the 41^st and last player to leave Day 2 was Iam Munns.
