The $50,000 buy-in no-limit Hold’em tournament concluded the 2023 PokerGO Cup festival on January 20 at ARIA Resort & Casino’s PokerGO Studio. Isaac Haxton, a high roller regular, won the tournament after defeating 25 players and received $598,000. It was his 12th biggest poker career score and the tenth live poker tournament title.
Haxton has $30,492,476 in live tournament earnings, according to the Hendon Mob. Also, he is the 15th player on the all-time money list and is among the 17 players in poker’s history to amass over $30 million in the circuit. Surprisingly, Haxton won his largest score at the PokerGO Studio when he bagged over $3.6 million in the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl V.
Besides getting the money and title, he garnered 306 Card Player Player of the Year (POY) points that improved his rank at Global Poker’s 2023 POY race to the top 100. Haxton won 359 PokerGO Tour points which put him in fourth position on the leaderboard.
The $50,000 buy-in tournament lasted for two days. Day 1 ended with a six-figure money bubble burst that occurred when Brian Kim’s K-10 slot to Cary Katz’s pocket aces. The hand earned Katz the second biggest stack heading to Day 2, following Haxton.

What Happened on Day 2?
Daniel Colpoys got busted first on the final day despite being second in the $25,000 buy-in Event No.7. His pocket nines lost to Haxton’s A-5 suited. The latter made an under-the-gun raise and made a four-bets shove over the former’s three-bet. Still, Haxton got an ace that held, thus ending Colpoy’s run in fourth place.
Sean Winter, the 2022 U.S. Poker Open and Poker Masters champion, finished third with $208,000 after losing a big pot. Rivered kings faced up Haxton’s flopped trip sevens. Winter wagered half of his remaining chips on the river, but Haxton’s raise folded him.
Winter used K-7 to put 240,000 chips in a preflop from a small blind before Haxton used A-9 to call him. Both of them checked, and Haxton won the pot after rivering a straight hence sending Winter packing. His elimination set up a heads-up battle between Katz and Haxton, the latter having a 3,550,000:1,650,000 chip lead.
They battled for over an hour, and Haxton didn’t lose his lead. Instead, he had increased it to over 14:1 when the dealer dealt the event’s final hand.
