Geolocation Company Pleased with New Jersey Service Results

Mobile Casinos in FranceSince the state of New Jersey began offering online gambling services back in late November, geolocation has been a hot topic of conversation. Players have had difficulty logging on and even creating player accounts and geolocation services have been to blame. Reporting at several poker forums, players related their tales of geolocation issues. To remedy the problem, operators like WSOP.com, decided to send wifi dongles to help with geolocation issues.

However, despite all of the reports and rumors, it is best to learn the geolocation process and success first hand. Onlinepokerreport.com’s Chris Grove recently sat down with Anna Sainsbury, the GeoComply CEO, to discuss exclusively the geolocation process as well as how the process is taking shape in New Jersey. Grove was able to ask pertinent questions so we can all understand geolocation and how it is working in the state in regards to online poker and casino gaming.

GeoComply is a provider of geolocation technology which is required when offering online gambling in the state. Companies must be able to detect if a player is located within the borders of New Jersey and geolocation technology makes this possible. The company is currently providing ten sites in the state with this technology.

Grove asked Sainsbury about the recent announcement that the company is providing over 5 million geolocation results for customers. Sainsbury explained that this number is a cumulative amount that spans over all operators in the state working with GeoComply. The results consist of customer login accounts as well as checks when game play is taking place.

Grove then asked Sainsbury to compare the positive results to negative results based on the five million count. Sainsbury stated that after the ineligible players are taken out of the equation, there is a 95% success rate. The company is pleased with this result especially when compared to other states in the same regard, who had lower results.

The CEO stated that the company does know that the 5% is still an issue that must be resolved. GeoComply is continuing to work with operators by updating technology and enhancing features that will help to lower the geolocation problems.

Grove’s interview was very interesting and sheds an informative light to the subject of Geolocation. Sainsbury even provides tips to users who may have issue when logging online in the state. The full interview, with the key tips, can be read here.
