SCOOP 96-M: $530 Main Event 2nd Chance — Fabio Freitas Wins the Title

The 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker that takes place on PokerStars offers a wide variety of events. Like always, the main events attract the most attention. The SCOOP offers several main events, which are divided into low, medium, and high stakes.

One of them recently wrapped up, and we witnessed the first main event winner in the 2020 SCOOP. Fabio “LFFF22” Freitas managed to take down SCOOP-96-M: $530 Main Event 2nd Chance and win a total of $348,643 for his effort.

It took only five hours on Day 3 for this event to complete. Freitas met with “thx4urm0n3y” from Canada in the heads-up play and won, officially becoming the main event champion. The Canadian settled for second place and the consolation prize of $248,523.

The winner did not have an easy job, as the main event attracted a total of 4,899 entries. The final prize pool was $2,449,500 and the first 607 players were included on the pay list. However, Freitas was the one to take the biggest piece of the pie in the end.

Although Freitas had some outstanding runs before, none of them was quite as fruitful as the one in this $540 Main Event 2nd Chance. He managed to get over many obstacles and face some great poker players along the way.

The Final Table Results

The last day of the event started with 16 players and some of them that failed to make it to the final table were Felipe “Carboneraa” Carbonera, “Luuk “pokerkluka” Gieles, “cmontopdeck,” “M4GPI3, “bernderbei2,” Leo “LeoFernandez” Fernandez,” and “galo_pb.”

The final table consisted of nine players and the first one who lost all their chips was a Canadian player “Jessofaces13,” winning $23,243 for their effort. The next one to follow was a Swedish player that goes by the name “Anton720,” who won $32,606 for their effort. After that, a player from the UK called “AfRoBiZzLe!” lost all chips and ended up in seventh place for $45,741.

Although Mongolians are not typically known to be big on online poker, one exception goes by the nickname “$ubuta1.” They won $64,168 for their effort.

Another UK player had to hit the rail after that. Bradley “mrbradleyy” Harwood lost all chips and claimed his reward for being fifth-placed, which was $90,018. The fourth-place belongs to “serrazina11” from Malta, who won $126,283. The last player to exit the game before the heads-up action could start was “LuckyBet101” from Ukraine who earned $177,156.

The 2020 SCOOP will last until May 31, and we still have some great poker action to see. Other main events are currently underway and things are getting pretty exciting. Apart from main events, SCOOP offers a plethora of side events for all types of players and all budget sizes – low, mid, and high.
