The 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT, which takes place in the Monte Carlo Bay Resort & Hotel, also included a Single-Day High Roller event that required the buy-in of €50,000. The event came to an end as Matthias Eibinger managed to win the first prize of €844,080. Furthermore, he claimed a PokerStars Spade trophy.
Eibinger’s opponent in the heads-up part of the event was Alex Foxen, who had successfully beaten a total of 58 entries (although 22 of them were actually re-entries). He now has a total of $6,000,000 in lifetime cashes, and the amount he won at the €50,000 Single-Day High Roller is his second-biggest amount ever.

Event Action
One of the main pretenders to claim the title was Charlie Carrel, who started pretty well early on. He was actually looking to cash out for the fifth time in the tournament but failed to do that as he came upon Eibinger’s pair of jacks with a queen-ten. Carrel had to hit the rail at the twelfth, and the tournament moved on. There are many table moves in the high-stakes tournament due to the fact that players enter, get busted, and reenter during the first eight levels.
At the moment all registrations were closed, there were a total of 31 players left, and the number of players who decided to go all in or to double up was not dropping. One of the most interesting hands that happened during the event was when there was a four-way all in. However, they were unable to bust each other. Isaac Haxton had pocket jacks, while Davis had pocket queens. Moreover, Richard Yong had ace-king, and Eibinger had pocket sevens. The board had a three, a king, a five, a six, and a four. Eibinger managed to make a straight, and Young had a pair of kings. Furthermore, Davies still had a pair of jacks, and Haxton eventually had to pay all of them.
The Final Table
The first one to go out in the final table was Seth Davies, who ended up in eighth place for a total prize of €112,540. He was followed by Michael Soyza from Malasia in seventh place for €143,490. Jean-Noel Thorel from France managed to bust on sixth place and won €180,070.
Alexander Uskov from Russia had to hit the rail as the fifth-placed player and won a total of €230,710. Ben Heath ended up fourth for €298,240, and Wai Leong Chan from Malaysia was in third place for €393,900.
The heads-up play did not last very long. The players ordered their drinks just before the bar closed as they expected that they could be playing for a while. However, Eibinger took the chip lead early on. In fact, he gained the lead after the first hand and managed to win the tournament in the third hand.
