Day 2b Results From the WSOPE Main Event

119 poker players to 44, day 2b of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) will finish much like the first part, but with 44 players to be added to the 40 from day 2a.

Again, several well known players will no longer be playing. Marc Goodwin is gone as well as the second bracelet winner from the WSOPE Pot Limit Omaha tournament earlier in the week, Dario Alioto. Home court advantage didn’t help London native Roland de Wolfe as he has also been eliminated.

Howard Lederer will also fail to cash in this main event as his AQ fell to KK. Kilt wearing Gerry Kane went out in agony as his favored AA was all in against KK and when a K flopped, his day was over. That wasn’t the only time today though as Johnny Lodden was all in on a rag flop with AA vs. TT and a river ten snagged away his victory as well as his tournament.

On the other side Isabelle Mercier, desperately short stacked went all in with A7 and was called by Mays Gavin with AJ. Dominated until a 7 on the flop held true and Isabelle doubled up. It was a short lived victory though as Isabelle was out by the end of the day.

Jamie Gold was up to his old tricks again. Gold has had some notorious behavior at the tables during tournaments like exposing a card, announcing his hand and even talking to other players about his hand when they are still involved in one. He actually received a warning in the 2007 WSOP for it. This time involved in a hand with James keys, they had this exchange,

Gold announced: “Either you put them in, or I do.” After showing his chips and offering an unsolicited chip count.

“If you put them in, I’ll call,” replied Keys.

It was after this a floor representative told Jamie no more discussing future action during a game. Well they did end up all in together and Jamie’s AA held up against Key’s, KK.

Gold did apologize to the table.
