David Funkhouser and Chino Rheem Win the First Two PGT Mixed Games Titles

PokerGO Tour (PGT) organizers held the first PGT Mixed Games series in February 2023. Its turnout impressed them, and they scheduled PGT Mixed Games II which would run from October 5 to October 14.

The ongoing series comprises nine tournaments with different formats and $5,000 to $25,000 buy-ins. Here are its first two events’ highlights.

David Funkhouser Tops the $10,200 H.O.R.S.E. Event

Event No.1: $10,200 Buy-in H.O.R.S.E. attracted 72 players and it had a $720,000 prize pool that the leading 11 players shared. ARIA Resort & Casino held the two-day tournament in PokerGO Studio.

David Funkhouser emerged the winner after beating Paul Volpe to clinch the $187,200 top prize. It was the second-biggest payout in his professional poker career. The champion won $200,356 after finishing second in the 2022 World Series of Poker $10,000 Stud Eight-or-Better Championship.

Reports indicate that Funkhouser has two titles, made 45 cashes, and amassed almost $694,000 in poker event winnings so far. He bagged his previous title in the 2012 Wynn Classic $500 Buy-In H.O.R.S.E. Event.

Players with deep runs who left the $10,200 H.O.R.S.E. tournament on Day 1 were Andrew Kelsall, Stever Zolotow, and Ben Yu. Its final table comprised Eli Elezra, Chino Rheem, Anthony Zinno, and Dylan Weisman.

Chino Rheem Is the Event No.2: $10,200 Big Bet Mix Tournament Champion

Rheem signed up for the $10,200 Buy-In Big Bet Mix despite finishing fourth in Event No.1: $10,200 H.O.R.S.E. The tournament featured 57 entrants and Rheem topped the field to win the $171,000 first-place prize. Arthur Morris and Nick Schulman cashed despite leaving the tournament on Day 1.

Stephen Chidwick, the table’s initial stack leader, left in the third position with $79,800. Andres Korn lost the title to Rheem and received a $114,000 consolation prize.
