Online gambling has been available in the state of New Jersey since late last year and the state quickly took the lead as the top provider of both casino and poker games. New information is constantly being released on the status of online gambling in the state and Caesars Interactive, an operator in NJ, recently sent out information from a study conducted by the company which had some very interesting findings.
The study showed that Hudson County seems to be the hotspot for online gaming in the state. A list of the top twenty municipalities in the state that see online game play, three of the cities in the top 20 are located in Hudson County. Seth Palansky is a spokesman for Caesars Interactive and he stated that the company does not have a reason as to why the towns in the Hudson County area rank so high on the list.
The company strictly took numbers for the first 100 days of operation and this is what the data shows. The Hudson County did not have any special marking or initiatives taking place that would have targeted the players located in this area.
According to the list, the #1 spot goes to Toms River while Jersey City is set at #2. Hoboken was at #4, Bayonne at #14. The information was based from game play of the 21st of November to the 28th of February.
The state offers online poker and casino gaming via websites based on seven casinos offerings. Over 290,000 accounts have been created since the online gaming began in the state. The Caesars data further shows that HarrahsCasino.com and CaesarsCasino.com saw the average user online for 43 minutes. WSOP.com players spent an average of 76 minutes online and the site also saw 26% of activity taking place via mobile devices.
Palansky further stated in an NJ.com report that the truth is that the company did not know what to expect with online gaming since it is a new activity. The company is pleased with the findings and have 63,000 people registered for accounts on several sites during the first 100 days of operations. Palansky stated the option seems to be pacing well with interest in the offerings.
