If you are following the 2019 Poker Masters tournament, you probably already know that Kahle Burns is having one of the greatest runs ever, as he managed to take down another event called Event No. 9: $25,000 No-Limit Hold ’em. He won a total of $416,500 as the first-place finisher.
This is his second victory at the 2019 Poker Masters, and he is currently located in second place in the run for the purple jacket that is traditionally worn by the player with the best score across all events in the tournament. Although Burns had a great run and has been doing pretty well, he will still have to try hard in order to beat Sam Soverel, who is currently leading the purple jacket race.
The 49 entries who took part in Event No. 9 are mostly professional poker players whose names are popular all over the poker world. The last player to hit the rail in 10th place and set up the scenario for the final table was Matthias Eibinger. However, even the top nine of the final table were not all included on the pay list, as only the top seven players had an opportunity to receive a share of the prize pool.
The two players who managed to make it to the final table but eventually left the event empty-handed were Ben Yu and Cary Katz, the founder of PokerGO. After they hit the rail, all the remaining players received cash rewards for their efforts.
The Top Seven
The first player to cash in was a US poker professional, Alex Foxen, who managed to win a total of $61,250. He was soon followed by another great player who is popular around the globe, David Peters. Peters ended the event with $73,500 in his pocket.
Fifth place belonged to Elio Fox, who had a great run but stumbled upon Burns’ wrath with his pocket queens failing to match a pair of aces that Burns matched on the turn. Fox ended up with $98,000.
The next player to hit the rail was Soverel, who is currently leading in the race for the purple jacket. Finishing this high up in yet another event gave him even more of an advantage in the race, and many believe that he is probably going to be the one to wear the jacket.
The last player to hit the rail before heads-up play started was Sean Winter, who won a total of $183,750. The last two remaining players were actually the only two non-Americans who made it to the pay list: Ali Imsirovi? and Burns.
Although Imsirovi? had a great run and even tried to match Burns, he didn’t manage to win the event, as Burns had too great of a run. The exciting heads-up battle ended with Imsirovi? losing all his chips and earning the consolation price of $269,500.
Imsirovi? has also had a great run, as the current Poker Masters champion who managed to win the purple jacket last year.
