Red Rock Resorts Incorporated recently declared that it will shutter three former Station Casinos in Nevada. It will permanently close them before the demolition as they haven’t operated for two years.
The casino operator released a press statement on Friday saying that it will shutter its Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, and Texas Station properties and reposition their land for sale.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal published a report last Friday explaining that it will first shut down the three enterprises. It added that it made that decision due to strategic and economic reasons due to the recent nationwide change in consumer trends.
The Shifting Sentiment
Station Casinos revealed that its largest clientele has moved from the Fiesta Rancho and Texas Station venues in North Las Vegas to Wildlife Rancho and Santa Fe Station properties. Players who often visited the Fiesta Henderson gaming venue have shifted to Green Valley Ranch Resort Casino and Spa and Sunset Station in Henderson.
Scott Kreeger’s Statement
Scott Kreeger, Station Casinos’ President, stated that the company’s three sites occupy 107.5 acres, and the proceeds that it will get from their sale will finance projects like establishing a new casino resort in North Las Vegas.
He divulged that Red Rock Resorts is discussing with the city’s officials about setting up the gaming venue in a “gaming enterprise district” as it continues working on the Southwest Las Vegas Station Casino Durango enterprise and a Wildfire-branded tavern project.
The executive added that the gaming company is partnering with North Las Vegas City to set up a development site for a huge casino resort. It is also pondering about the tavern and non-restricted space besides having other investment plans in the city.
The Region’s Revival
Kreeger said that the resort has a close relationship with Henderson City as it has several properties in the region and the Nevada community’s dynamic nature pleases it. He pronounced that the casino operator has a site in the Inspirida development. Also, it is investing a huge sum of money to revive the Green Valley Ranch Resort Casino and Spa and Sunset Station venues.
The executive added that the three highlighted properties ceased operating in 2020. It isn’t economically wise to spend a lot of money trying to renovate them as its other properties have had an exceptional performance since they resumed operations after the pandemic.
One of Red Rock Resorts’ Four Properties That It Has Still Closed
The three casinos are the four Station Casinos venues that haven’t reopened since the 78-day Coronavirus shutdown that Nevada lifted on June 4, 2020. The resort sold one of the properties and didn’t reveal its plans for the remaining three.
The North Las Vegas City Council approved its non-operational status request last month for Fiesta Rancho and Texas Station up to June 4, 2023. Still, the company hadn’t disclosed its plan for Fiesta Henderson, thus making some people claim that it will sell the other two casinos.
Station owns and runs the Red Rock Resort on the Las Vegas Strip’s west side, Santa Fe Station in northwest Las Vegas Sunset Station and Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, Boulder Station, and Palace Station venues in Las Vegas. Still, it runs a few non-hotel Wildfire enterprises.
Red Rock Resorts sold its Palms Casino Resort near the Las Vegas Strip in May 2021 for $650 million to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians from South California. It was Station’s fourth casino that remained closed.
