Another great bowl game on our hands. On December 27, the Wisconsin Badgers will travel to Chase Field to play the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Guaranteed Rate Bowl’s game time in Phoenix is set for 10:15 p.m. EST. Wisconsin is coming into this game with a decent year behind them, with a record of 7-5. Oklahoma has fallen off the map this year with an overall record of 6-6 coming into this bowl game.
Going into the game on Tuesday, the Badgers are coming off a tough loss to the Golden Gophers after losing 23-16. Graham Mertz has led the offense for the Badgers, being able to put up some solid numbers this year. On the other side of the ball, the Cowboys are coming off a loss to the Mountaineers with a score of 24-19. Wisconsin is listed at -3.5 over Oklahoma State.

Then we realize that the Badgers have not had an awful season, with a record of 7-5 in the Big Ten. The Badgers have been led by Mertz, with an impressive year in the quarterback spot. Mertz has thrown for 2,136 yards and has added 19 touchdowns this season which will hurt the Badgers come Tuesday.
Mertz has decided to transfer to Florida next season. The man they will have to rely on now will be their sophomore running back, Braelon Allen. Allen has carried the ball 208 times and has racked up 1,126 rushing yards. So, during the game against the Cowboys, Allen will have to come in clutch for the Badgers.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma is on the struggle bus.
Oklahoma State was upsetting teams going into this season, and then they decided they were going to fall off the Earth. The Cowboys were able to get wins against Texas and Baylor. They also had a dogfight against TCU, with the score being 43-40 TCU. The big name for the Cowboys was their quarterback Spencer Sanders who threw for 2,642 yards and added 17 touchdowns.
Sanders is another one of the guys entering the transfer portal so he will not be suited up against the Badgers. That said, wide receiver Brennan Presley will have to catch whatever is being thrown his way on Tuesday. Presley has had a great year with 61 receptions for 739 yards and added two touchdowns on the year. Presley is another player to watch out for on Tuesday night.

This game will be a dogfight now without their two main players. Without their quarterbacks, neither team will have a backup better than their starter. They will have to go with the flow the whole game and see what will work for each team to win. That said, the Cowboys have enough strength on offense to win over the Badgers.
