Wisconsin Badgers at Ohio State Buckeyes Betting Preview

The first six weeks for the No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers could not have gone any better, as they went 6-0 to open the season, playing like one of the top teams in the country. Their offense ranks among the best, while they do not allow many points. But then last week, unranked Illinois was able to outplay them and ultimately knock them off on a late-second field goal, despite a hefty spread against them. Sometimes your opponent is just more prepared.

The No. 3 Buckeyes, meanwhile, are still searching for some real competition. They are the No. 3 scoring offense and No. 2 scoring defense in the country. They always bring such great talent, and Ryan Day has done a magnificent job in his first full year at the helm. They currently sit as the third-best team in the country and have gone 4-0 in Big Ten play. They are looking to keep it rolling against the Badgers now.

The Buckeyes are set as 14.5-point favorites, while the over/under is set at 49.5. Bet the over.

Badgers Looking To Bounce Back

After the 6-0 start, the Badgers were receiving serious consideration for the College Football Playoff, a team dominating not only on offense but on defense too. Then they lost to a squad with a losing record, and it all came crashing down. Jack Coan has thrown for 1,381 yards and nine TDs, completing an astounding 76 percent of his throws and firing just two INTs. Jonathan Taylor is leading the rushing attack with another Heisman-esque season, rushing 157 times for 957 yards and 15 touchdowns. He is crushing it and is going to be making NFL defenses look terrible trying to tackle him for the years to come. They will miss him when he’s gone.

The pass rush has been tremendous for the Badgers, led by Chris Orr (8.0 sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss) and Zack Baun (6.5 sacks, 11.0 TFL). They have made a big impact all year, and if they can get any pressure on Justin Fields, it sure would help.

Dominant Start

It really has not mattered how good or bad their opponents have been, as every team has been treated the same by the Buckeyes. They are a great football team with a dominant offense, complemented by a defense at the same level. Fields is closing in on 1,500 yards and has 22 TD passes to just a single pick. J.K. Dobbins has 134 rushes for 947 and seven touchdowns and is nearly on the same level as Taylor as far as running-back effectiveness. Master Teague has done a good job as his backup, while Fields has added eight more rushing scores.

Chase Young is looking like a guy who will dominate in the NFL, already recording 9.5 sacks on the year, while Jeffrey Okudah has picked off three passes. They have playmakers all over.

Ohio State Dominates Wisconsin

The Badgers’ losing will officially become a streak with a second loss in a row as the Buckeyes roll. Fields will account for six TDs.
