Ohio State Needs to Bounce Back from Loss
Wisconsin is coming off a 65-45 win over Iowa on Thursday. Ethan Happ led the way for the Badgers with 21 points on 5 of 11 shooting to go with a team-high 14 rebounds and 3 assists. Khalil Iverson was the only other Badger in double figures with 11 points on 4 of 7 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds. Aleem Ford added 9 points and 5 rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench. Ohio State is coming off a 68-50 loss at Northwestern on Wednesday. The Buckeyes scored just 17 points in the 1st half and could not overcome the 11-point halftime deficit. Keyshawn Woods was the leading scorer in this one with 15 points on 5 of 11 shooting. Woods and Justin Ahrens tied for the team lead in rebounds with 7. Duane Washington Jr. was the only other Buckeye in double figures with 11 on just 4 of 14 shooting to go with 6 rebounds. Washington and 2 other Buckeyes tied for the team lead in assists with 2.
Happ Leading the Badgers
Ethan Happ leads the Badgers in all 3 major statistical categories. He is averaging 17.9 points per game and is shooting 53.5% from the field. He also grabs 10.2 rebounds per game and dishes out 4.6 assists per contest. The one downfall to Happ’s game is his free throw shooting, which is at 46.9% for the season. The next highest leading scorer is D’Mitrik Trice, who is scoring 12.1 a game and is shooting 41.3% from deep. Brad Davidson is the only other Badger averaging double figures with 10.8 a game. However, Wesson will not play in this one due to a suspension for violating a team policy. CJ Jackson scores 11.8 points a game and dishes out a team-high 3.4 assists a game. Andre Wesson chips in 8.6 a game and Luther Muhammad adds 8.2 a game. The Buckeyes do not have a player shooting above 40% from 3-point range. Take Wisconsin
Wisconsin comes in at -2.5. Both of these teams struggle offensively, but Wisconsin will have the best player on the court in Ethan Happ. With Wesson out, Happ will have an absolute field day and should be dominant in this one. Ohio St will not be able to score at all as they are without their leading scorer. I think Wisconsin will grab an early lead in this one and coast to a double-digit victory. Take Wisconsin -2.5.
