Philadelphia 76ers at Washington Wizards Betting Pick

Fresh off a win over DC last night, the 76ers will be looking to finish the home-and-home with a 2-0 mark. Landry Shamet came off the bench to bury eight threes, the leading scorer for the Sixers team with 132 points. They had their offense going from the opening tip, and never looked back.

Washington, on the other hand, didn’t get much from anybody besides Bradley Beal, who finished the day with 28 points. They will need to find a spark from somebody besides Beal tonight to have a chance. It would also be great to see Thomas Bryant get more of an opportunity to bang down low with Embiid in this one.

Sixers:

They have the #6 scoring offense in the NBA, and move the ball as well as anybody, ranking #3 in assists. Ben Simmons leads the way with 8.0, but a lot of the offense goes through Joel Embiid, who is having an MVP type of campaign. There has been nothing wrong in his game, aside from the fact that his production has dipped a little bit since the addition of Jimmy. The projected win-loss to this point in the season is 24-17, but at 27-14, have done a bit better than that, of course.

Jimmy Butler has spoken out against Brett Brown, but who is really surprised by that? It’s tough to see, but he just seems to create a lot of negative attention. They keep winning though, so we will ignore it.

Wizards:

We cannot use injuries to excuse all of the Wizards poor play. Even with John Wall done for the year, they have enough solid pieces to be winning more than this. They have a lot of wings with good size and scoring ability, plus guys who can defend well. Sam Dekker has played very well of late, while Trevor Ariza, Otto Porter Jr., and Jeff Green have followed suit. Not having Dwight Howard has meant very little, as he only appeared in nine games. Markieff Morris is missed, but it gives them a chance to employ more defense-first guys. Beal has enough help to be able to carry them to wins.

They have the #9 scoring offense in the league, but rank #29 in points against, as their defense has, despite the potential, not been able to stop anybody. And as valuable as Ariza is on that end, he has not made them any better in this area. The only hope for tonight is for Beal to off for 40+ and Thomas Bryant to contain Joel Embiid in the low-post.

Sixers stay hot, win on the road

They are a sub-.500 team away from home, but that won’t be slowing them down in this game. The Sixers, led by Ben Simmons tonight, will be leaving with a victory. His big triple-double will carry the team to the win in the nation’s capital!

Maybe next time, Wizards.
