Ohio State Buckeyes at Notre Dame Fighting Irish Betting Pick

In a huge College Football affair on Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes will visit the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Ohio State Buckeyes were 6, and Notre Dame was 9th. In the Coaches Poll, the Buckeyes are at 4, and the Irish are 9th. Both teams come into the game with perfect records on the season.

Ohio State has wins over Indiana, Youngstown State, and Western Kentucky. In those three games, the Buckeyes have allowed just 20 points.

For Notre Dame, since they started the season in late August, they are the lone team with four wins in College Football. The Irish smacked Navy and Tennessee State to start the season, then went to NC State and beat the Wolf Pack before beating up Central Michigan last weekend.

The Ohio State Buckeyes come into the game as small favorites. The Buckeyes are -3 on the road, with a total of 55.5.

Irish Rolling Through 2023

Sam Hartman has changed the game on the offensive side for Coach Freeman and the Irish. Hartman, the former Wake Forest signal caller, has been really solid through four games. He ranks near the top of College Football with 1,061 passing yards and 13 touchdowns. His top target, Chris Tyree, has eight receptions, with two of them coming for touchdowns.

The Irish, as a team, are throwing for 304 yards per game, which is 21st in College Football. The run game has also been impressive. Audric Estime leads the country with 521 yards on the ground, and he also has five touchdowns. Overall, the Irish are picking up 204.5 yards per game running the football.

Notre Dame is scoring 50.5 points per game and allowing just 11.8 per game. While the first four games have not been overly challenging for the Irish, this is the start of three of their next four games against ranked opponents. A trip to Duke and a home game with USC are upcoming.

Buckeyes Looking to be Road Warriors

The Ohio State Buckeyes started the season on the road. That’s rare for a team that powerhouse level of Ohio State. They won that game on the road at Indiana, and while the Hoosiers may not be at the same talent level as the Irish, they are now familiar with a road game.

Ohio State has allowed just 20 points on the season, while the offense has scored 121. The 6.7 points allowed per game is the second-best in all of College Football.

On the offensive side, this is a team that can pass the football as well. The Buckeyes are picking up 318 yards per game. Quarterback Kyle McCord hopes to be the next great college quarterback at Ohio State. He has 815 yards and six touchdowns thus far.

Marvin Harrison Jr. is an absolute stud receiver for the Buckeyes. He has 14 receptions, 304 yards and three touchdowns on the season. The Buckeyes play their second Big Ten game following an off week. Ohio State will host Maryland on October 7th.

High Flying Game

We understand both teams have great defenses. But neither team has played an offense the caliber of these two teams. The 55.5 points seem to be too low. The winner of this game is going to get to 30+. Look for Hartman and McCord to both have big games.

In the end, though, we are taking the Luck of the Irish at home. Hartman leads a final drive, and the Irish win 35-31 over the Buckeyes on Saturday. Bet Notre Dame +3.
