Miami (OH) RedHawks at Buffalo Bulls Betting Preview

The RedHawks came away victorious in their first game last week and will hope to do the same on Tuesday night. Who doesn’t love to see an early week showdown? On Monday, the Jets and Patriots actually had an exciting game. And now, as Buffalo hosts Miami (OH), we’re looking for another one.

Both of these teams picked up a win to open the season up, and it’s too bad that one of them won’t be able to start 2-0. The MAC has a lot of talented teams this year, so the victorious squad will certainly have some bragging rights by day’s end.

Lance Leipold’s Buffalo team will be hoping to avoid a defeat in this one. They went 8-5 a year ago and aim to have an even better finishing mark in 2020. In a season with so much uncertainty, the best approach is to take things game by game. One week at a time, one opponent at a time.

Miami (OH) will be hoping to do the same. A 2-0 start is just what the doctor ordered, so we’ll soon know if Chuck Martin’s team can win again.

ODDS:

Buffalo is favored by 9.5 points in this one, and the spread set at 56.5.

RedHawks Aiming for a 2-0 Start

Surprisingly, we didn’t get to see too much of Brett Gabbert for the RedHawks last week. An early head injury knocked him out of the game and didn’t allow us to continue to watch him progress after a quick start. AJ Maier was tremendous in his place, but watching Gabbert is preferred.

Knowing the pedigree of his brother Blaine Gabbert, it’s tough to see him get hurt in game one. The run game didn’t do too much, though they gained 100 yards in 20 carries between Davian Johnson and Zach Kahn, with a pair of touchdowns. The yards will need to be there again in this one, though five per carry isn’t too bad.

The defense will need to step up and slow a tough Buffalo team down to ultimately lead them to victory.

Buffalo Aiming to Stay Hot

After scoring 49 points in their first game, the Bulls are feeling great. They had seven touchdowns in the game but also allowed 30 points. They will need to be a bit better on defense, as they’ll be facing a tough quarterback, no matter if it’s Meier or Gabbert. The pash rush needs to excel.

Jarret Peterson was a man on a mission, rushing for 137 yards and two scores on 20 carries. He couldn’t be slowed down and played an integral role in the victory. Kyle Vantrease completed 11 of 17 passes for 175 yards, with one touchdown and interception to go with it.

They’ll need Vantrease to sling the ball more. Miami (OH) is a tough matchup, and if he doesn’t step up, the team’s 9.5-point spread will not be reached.

RedHawks Can’t Quite Get it Done

A win is coming for Buffalo, as they’ll improve to 2-0.
