#3 Georgia Bulldogs vs #2 Alabama Crimson Tide Betting Preview

Georgia is in Tuscaloosa to face Alabama in what is lining up to be the most exciting college football game of the year so far. Any time these teams get together, sparks fly and the game features some unbelievable moments. This year should prove to be no different for both schools.

Georgia has gotten off to a solid 3-0 start, with their defense leading the way. The Bulldogs get great recruits every year, and have one of the best leaders in the NCAA, Kirby Smart, at the helm. UGA looks to make a statement in this game, as the loser will be looking up at the SEC standings from here on out.

Alabama, on the other hand has put together one of the most prolific offenses in the nation through the first three games. All the Crimson Tide have done is score touchdown after touchdown, and come away with victories. It was hard to knock off Ole Miss, but Nick Saban’s team made it through the game with a wild victory.

The winner of Saturday night’s tilt moves to 4-0 on the season.

ODDS:

Alabama is a somewhat surprising 4-point favorite in this meeting, due mostly to the game being in Tuscaloosa. The over/under is 56.

Bulldogs Look to Stay Perfect

Georgia is largely yet to be tested, but the meeting with Alabama is always a battle. The UGA offense has been putting up 36 points per game, but that isn’t why they’re coming away with wins. Their defense has allowed just 37 points total through 12 quarters, good for #5 in the country.

The Bulldogs have a stellar pass rush, with multiple guys that can bring pressure to the QB. Georgia has come away with five interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. UGA has also forced four fumbles with their impressive tacking ability.

QB Stetson Bennett hasn’t impressed, but he has taken good care of the football. Bennett has thrown for five touchdowns without an interception, completing 53 of 84 passes for a total of 689 yards.

Alabama Trying to Knock Off Georgia

Alabama’s high-powered offense is likely going to make Georgia shake in their boots a little more than usual. Averaging a nation-best 51 points per game, the Tide just can’t seem to be slowed. It was the Alabama offense, and only the offense, that propelled the team to a win in a very sloppy game against Ole Miss last weekend.

Mac Jones has already thrown for over 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns, with a completion percentage of 79.5. Najee Harris is averaging seven yards per carry and has 10 touchdowns already. The duo of Jones and Harris have 18 TD’s in three games, proving to be a very tough tandem to stop.

Alabama also has some fantastic wide receivers in Jaylen Waddle and Devonta Smith to round out their versatile offense. There’s a lot to be desired on the defensive end, and that’s an area they will need to be better in if victory is their goal.
