Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers Betting Preview

Rejoice, NBA fans! After not seeing a game that counts since March 11th, we are finally ready to introduce meaningful games again. It has been a long and tedious process, but with 22 teams in Orlando, they are all set to go. And the second game of the first night features the two LA teams with title dreams facing off.

The Clippers will be at full strength, save for Lou Williams. Kawhi Leonard is looking to win his third title on as many teams, while Paul George will, in the long run, be looking to end a streak of five straight seasons without advancing in the playoffs.

And a graying LeBron will hope to lead the Lakers to the top of the NBA world for the first time in a decade. He has AD to help him.

Odds:

The Lakers are 4.5-point favorites, with the over/under set at 216.5.

Lakers Basketball is Back

And they have two players on the roster who were not here when they last took the court. Dion Waiters signed with the team right before everything was shut down, while JR Smith joined the team in the last month. And both of these guys bring tremendous values as scorers coming off the bench. And each has previous experience playing alongside LeBron.

But at the end of the day, it all comes down to Bron and AD. Anthony Davis has had a fantastic first season with the Lakers. And he’ll have a favorable matchup against Ivica Zubac and Montrezl Harrell in this one. His size will be too much.

LeBron will have to worry about both Kawhi and PG on both ends, and the cross-matchups will be fun to see. Let’s see how the other guys on the Lakers perform in the official return.

Clippers Hoping This Can be the Year

The Clippers have been looming in the shadows for decades now, unable to gain more popularity than the Lakers. They share an arena usually that gets done up for their games, where they cover all the banners from the “other” team. That will change within the next few years, though, as Steve Ballmer put in the money for a new arena in Inglewood.

They have two superstars that they didn’t have a year ago in PG and Kawhi, who are ready to prove how dominant they can be on the floor together. Neither of them has been in the lineup consistently this year, so this will be great for the team to have them together.

They will have a big decision to make with Montrezl Harrell this summer, as he’ll hit free agency. He’s gotten better with every passing season in LA, showing the Rockets what they gave up in the CP3 deal. He and Lou Williams will be vital to the team’s success.

Will this be the year for them?

Bet the Lakers

The game will be very close, with both teams showing a few signs of rust. Make sure to bet the over 216.5, and LAL -4.5. It’s the way to go.
