Los Angeles Chargers vs. Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

As the NFL Preseason comes to a close this weekend, the Los Angeles Chargers will square off with the Seattle Seahawks.

Seattle has yet to win a preseason game, coming in 0-2. The Chargers are 1-1 after losing to the 49ers last weekend.

This season is one of the few preseason games where we don’t have a battle at the starting quarterback position. The Seahawks are obviously sticking with Russell Wilson, and the Chargers found their QB in Justin Herbert in last year’s draft.

It is unclear how much those two will play this weekend if any at all.

Seattle heads into Saturday as 5.5 point favorites, one of the widest we’ve seen in the preseason. The game kicks off Saturday at 10 EST on NFL Network.

Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview

Justin Herbert has yet to take a snap this preseason. It’s been all backups so far. Chase Daniel was 14/21 for only 60 yards and an interception against the 49ers last week.

It would seem that backup QB Easton Stick may have a slight lead in becoming Herbert’s backup this season. Stick went 10/14 for 85 yards and a touchdown against the Niners. In the Chargers’ week two win against the Rams, he was a perfect 7/7.

The Chargers have yet to run many of their offensive starting weapons on the field this season. So far, it’s been running back Larry Rountree III leading the team in carries and yards.

Josh Palmer and Jalen Guyton have led the team in receiving through the first two games. Look for these backups to keep rolling in the final week of preseason. No way the Chargers risk their starters now.

Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

It’s been a tough preseason for the Seahawks. We know they are loaded with talent, but they have lost both their games so far. The starters haven’t seen the field yet, though.

Seattle has about a million running backs duking it out for the position, including returning starter Chris Carson. While we think Carson wins this battle, watching his backup duel it out could be interesting on Saturday night.

With no DK Metcalf or Tyler Lockett, it’s been all Cade Johnson and Deejay Dallas leading the receiving group. Both have shined in the first two weeks.

Sean Mannion, Alex McGough, and Geno Smith are battling it out for the backup quarterback position. So far, Mannion has looked like the better of the three. Mannion has yet to turn the ball over, while McGough has already thrown two picks.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Seattle Seahawks Pick

Nobody is more ready for the regular season than bettors and handicappers. Not knowing who will play and for how long makes it extremely tough to make preseason picks.

In this case, not a difficult decision. With the spread being 5.5 and the Seahawks being 0-2, we like the Chargers in this game. Los Angeles has seemingly taken the preseason more seriously than Seattle, which is no surprise since they are a young team.

Chase Daniel and Easton Stick light up the Seahawks’ backups on defense. Take the Chargers at +5.5.
