Green Bay Packers at Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

The Green Bay Packers hit the road in a must-win situation against the league’s best team, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET at Lincoln Financial Field. It could be a de facto elimination game for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

The Eagles are favored by 6.5 points with an over/under of 45.5. The Packers are +240 on the moneyline, while the Eagles are -300.

Packers backed up against the wall

Eight teams have a better record than the Packers, who are one of four teams at 4-7 in the NFC. The top seven teams get into the postseason, so the Packers have their backs against the wall. They would need some help to get in with nine wins, meaning a loss would be critical.

The Packers have been league-average on both sides of the field. The offense ranks 15th with 344.9 yards per game but is 26th in scoring 18.4 points per game. They are also 25th with 15 giveaways. The passing attack has struggled, ranking 19th with 222.3 yards per contest.

Defensively, the Packers are 16th in allowing 22.1 points per game, 14th in allowing 328.3 yards per game, and 18th with 11 takeaways. They are fourth in holding teams to 192.5 passing yards per contest but 25th in allowing teams to rush for 135.8 yards per game.

Most of the Packers’ skill players are probable on the latest injury report but worrisome is offensive linemen David Bakhtiari (knee) and Elgton Jenkins (knee) are questionable.

Back on track for the Eagles?

The Eagles had their undefeated season dreams wiped away with a 27-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans a week from Thursday. Now rested, an Eagles team that is top-6 offensively and defensively gets a crack at one of the best quarterbacks of all time.

The Eagles are sixth in allowing 18.3 points per game, second in holding teams to 300.6 yards per game, and first with 21 takeaways. They are second in allowing 178.4 yards passing per contest and 19th in allowing 122.2 rushing yards per game.

Offensively, they are fourth in scoring 26.3 points per game and fifth in gaining 370.6 yards per game. They are third with only nine giveaways, sixth in rushing at 142.5 yards per game, and 12th in passing at 228.1 yards per game.

Jalen Hurts has completed 68.3% of his passes with 15 touchdowns and three interceptions and has rushed for 440 yards and eight touchdowns.
