Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers Week 13 Betting Preview

Two teams on completely different ends of the standings are set to meet this weekend in Green Bay. The Eagles are 3-7-1, but despite their pitiful record, they are in the thick of the race to win the NFC East. The Packers are 8-3 and will likely end up as division champions, hosting a playoff game to boot.

Carson Wentz has not been playing good football this year, and his offensive line has been horrific. They have had injuries at all the skill positions on offense, so it has been hard to judge what they can do. Perhaps, they can surprise folks with a win this week.

Despite a somewhat limited arsenal, Aaron Rodgers has Green Bay flying high, playing in MVP-caliber form once again. Matt LeFleur has done a bang-up job with his team. A victory in this game would improve his record as Green Bay head coach to 22-6.

The spread for Sunday’s game favors the Packers by 8.5. The over/under is set at 48.

Eagles Look for Critical Win

It seems that every week, something new goes wrong for this Eagles team. The offense fails to score when the defense plays well, or the defense falls behind early and makes things difficult for the offense. It just can’t all go right for them in a given week.

Alshon Jeffery has done virtually nothing in the last couple of years as injuries have taken a toll on him. He’s played in three games this season, starting one, posting two catches for seven yards.

The return of Miles Sanders did not help the running game in the way that the Eagles had hoped it would. Sanders has three touchdowns this year, but three fumbles keep Philadelphia in a precarious position. Somehow, Boston Scott is performing almost as well despite having fewer carries and opportunities to produce.

So, what is the solution to fixing the struggles? It would start with forcing turnovers on Sunday, setting the offense up with a shorter field. The Eagles have a league-worst three interceptions this season.

Green Bay Aims for 9-3 Record

Rodgers just turned 37 last week, but he is playing with the poise, confidence, and capability of a much younger quarterback. He is playing some of the best football of his career, with 3,100 yards, 33 touchdowns, and four interceptions this year.

Aaron Jones has continued to prove himself as an elite runner, and the defense is making enough key plays to secure victories. However, if there’s a place where Green Bay can be exposed, it’s in the run game. The Packers allow more than 4.5 yards per carry and have struggled to contain big runs.

Packers Win Again

Even though the Eagles’ defense has put up some impressive numbers against the pass this season, they haven’t seen many offenses as dynamic as the Packers will bring. A big day from Wentz may not be enough to win, or even cover. Take Green Bay to move one step closer to the NFC North title.
