FanDuel Casino Debuts in New Jersey as an independent App and Introduces Live Dealer Games in Michigan

FanDuel Casino has been operating alongside FanDuel sportsbook. But now, FanDuel Casino debuts as an independent app in New Jersey. It is also launching live dealer games in Michigan.

On July 22, 2021, the Michigan Gaming Control Board gave Evolution Gaming light to offer its live dealer games to ten operators. These include BetRivers Casino, FanDuel Casino, and BetMGM Casino, among others.
These operators will use Evolution’s casino studio located in Detroit. FanDuel casino will offer live dealer games such as baccarat, roulette, and blackjack from Evolution’s studio.

The new FanDuel app comes with other benefits. For example, the online casino has been optimized to improve casino offerings to players in Garden State. Now, bettors will play video poker, slot machines, roulette, blackjack, and other casino games on the FanDuel app.

Multiple Branding Before Getting To a FanDuel Casino App

Getting a FanDuel casino app in New Jersey was not easy. The app has a history to tell. First, FanDuel was in a partnership with Meadowlands Racetrack.

Despite wanting to have a casino, FanDuel could not operate one under the Garden State laws. These laws provide for land-based casinos to offer casino games, whether on land or online.

On the other hand, racetracks cannot offer online casinos. Thus, it was impossible for FanDuel, in partnership with Meadowlands Racetrack, to provide an online casino.

But, considering FanDuel is a product of Flutter, which is also the parent company of Betfair, Flutter managed a collaboration with Golden Nugget AC. It started offering online casino games under the Betfair branded casino.
FanDuel then launched its casino in Pennsylvania in January 2020. The product was incorporated into its sportsbook and then changed to a standalone in June 2020.

Flutter bought the Stardust Casino brand this year and renamed it to an independent Betfair casino New Jersey app. The company is using the same license to launch a separate FanDuel casino app. This means players registered on the Stardust app and FanDuel apps don’t have to create another account to use the other account. But, game selections, presentation, and branding will be different, meeting each brand’s audiences’ needs.

FanDuel Casino App Comes Before IPO Plans

Flutter has had plans to divide the US operations into an IPO. The company never specified when it would do this, but it was expected to complete the proceeding this July. However, this plan has been pushed forward for several reasons.

First, the company has replaced its CEO, Matt King. King was the CEO at the FanDuel Group until his retirement on May 12, 2021. Although he retired on May 22, King has been with the company until July 16, 2021.

According to Sportico, King is now working with an apparel company to bring a gaming aspect to the brand. The eCommerce company has 80 million possible sports fans who will hugely benefit from King’s invention. Meanwhile, Matt was replaced by Amy Howe to act as CEO until Flutter finds a permanent solution.

The other reason IPO proceedings are still halted is rumored to be a disagreement between Flutter and its partner Fox. The media company was expected to buy 18.6 percent of FanDuel in July 2021.

However, Flutter and Fox are in disagreement over the price. They are using Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services to solve the issues.
