Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons Betting Preview

The Panthers are in Atlanta to face the Falcons, a game that will kick off at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday. Carolina has been able to come away with a pair of wins since Christian McCaffrey went down, thanks to, among other things, the emergence of Mike Davis. Teddy Bridgewater has been slinging the ball well.

And most surprisingly, new acquisition Robby Anderson has been the top playmaker in the offense. He’s getting the most targets and taking complete advantage of his situation.

Anderson has been a dream come true for any fantasy owners that took a chance on him. His ups and downs with the Jets are clearly in his past.

Atlanta, on the other hand, is having a nightmarish season. Given all the targets Matt Ryan has to throw to, plus the addition of Todd Gurley, this 0-4 start seems like a cruel joke. But it’s reality, and that’s what will happen when the defense struggles as the Falcons unit has.

A loss in this weekend’s game would send them to an 0-5 record, the worst start in the Matt Ryan era.

ODDS:

The Falcons are actually favored by 1.5 points, and the over/under set at 53.5.

Panthers Look for Third Straight Win

After the Bucs loss to the Bears last night, Carolina can move into a tie for first in the NFC South with a win in this game. They have a great opportunity in front of them, and Matt Rhule will not want his team to let this get away from them. They’ll hit the ground running.

Carolina has picked up two wins in a row after back-to-back losses to open the year, and they have their QB, among others, to thank. Teddy Bridgewater is a full-time starter for the first time since before his devastating injury, and he’s excelling in his new home. He’s rattled off some big runs and is slinging the ball well.

Bridgewater is doing this with a first-time NFL coach. Fun times in Panther town.

Can Atlanta Finally Win One?

The answer to the headline is a shocking no, as long as they keep the same staff. Dan Quinn should have been fired a long time ago, as it’s clearly not working. Last year was a mess, and they only kept him on because of some late-season wins. In a year where the team was going nowhere. What are they thinking?

But he’s still the coach, so they’ll have to work with what they have. Ryan, statistically speaking, is a top eight quarterback this year, but he won’t get that credit because of the zero wins. All of the other ‘great’ quarterbacks are leading their teams to victories, while the Falcons continue to fall short.

If they want to win this week, the defense will need to step up, and they’ll need to score north of 35 points.

Panthers Knock Atlanta Off, Send Them to 0-5

It’s a good week to be a Carolina fan. Rhule will coach his team to a win for the third week in a row.
