We have two of the best teams in hockey going at it on Wednesday night as the Carolina Hurricanes will take on the Dallas Stars. Dallas hosts here, and they’ve been an incredible team on their home ice this season. Not only have they been great on their home ice, but they have the most points in the Western Conference with 64. Carolina has been even better this season, sitting in first place in the Metropolitan Division with 66 points.
Both teams are loaded on both sides of the puck, and that should lead to an incredible game. Dallas hasn’t been playing too well recently, but a win here would put them right back on track.
Carolina is the favorite at -115, but Dallas comes in at -105, so there isn’t too much of a difference between the odds.
Bigger Game For Dallas Stars
This game for Dallas might be a bit bigger than Carolina. While both teams come in at 5-3-2 in their last 10, Dallas is coming off a few disappointing losses and needs to find a way to protect their home ice. They’re at their best when they’re getting stops and that’s going to be the point of emphasis once again on Wednesday. Jake Oettinger has been one of the best goalies in hockey this season and must find ways to get saves against a legit Carolina offense.
In terms of their attack, Tyler Seguin, Jason Robertson, Jamie Benn, Joe Pavelski, and Roope Hintz are all of the top guys for Dallas. Those guys need to continue playing at an elite level if they want to find a way to win this game.
Carolina Can Play Spoiler Here
With the Carolina Hurricanes also being 5-3-2 in their last 10, it’s easy to see why they also want to get back on track and get back to their winning ways. A win here could do exactly that as they look to continue building momentum.
They’ve won two games in a row, including impressive wins over the New York Islanders and Minnesota Wild. Carolina dominated in both of those games, scoring five goals and allowing just two in each.
Sebastian Aho, Andrei Svechnikov, Seth Jarvis, and others are the ones that will carry the load for the Hurricanes here. They must find ways to put the puck in the back of the net and put pressure on Dallas to get a road win.
Carolina Hurricanes vs. Dallas Stars Prediction
This line is an interesting one, as Dallas comes in as a slight underdog. While it does make sense in a way because of how good Carolina has played this season, taking the underdog at home that has the most points in the Western Conference never seems like a bad idea. Because of that, I would lean towards the Stars here and would think about playing them to win the game outright against a Carolina Hurricanes team that will look to get a huge win.
