Baltimore Ravens at Philadelphia Eagles Week 6 Betting Preview

It’s a battle of young quarterbacks as Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens are in Philadelphia to play Carson Wentz’s Eagles. Baltimore has gotten off to a 4-1 start, while Philadelphia is struggling at 1-3-1. The Eagles are in desperate need of a win, and things could get a little ugly for them if they drop another game.

Jobs aren’t necessarily on the line, but the Eagles haven’t accomplished much since their Super Bowl title. All of their success in the playoffs came with Nick Foles, while Wentz is still without a playoff win. Not too good for a former No. 2 overall pick.

The Ravens, on the other hand, are playing some fantastic football. They’re off to a 4-1 start, which comes after a season in which they went 14-2.

Jackson hasn’t been as effective, but as long as the Ravens continue to win, it won’t hurt them too much. He isn’t running all over defenses in the same way as his MVP campaign of a season ago.

But despite several changes, the defense for Baltimore continues to make big plays. They’re looking like contenders again.

Baltimore is a 9.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 46.5.

Ravens in Search of 5-1 Start

The team has been playing great football and hopes to keep things rolling on Sunday. The odds seem to favor that being the result, so if the Ravens can play half as well as expected, a win should await them. Jackson will need to be a little better, as will the Baltimore run game.

There is a lot to be desired at the receiver spots, save for tight end Mark Andrews and wide receiver Hollywood Brown. Those two guys hold it down impressively still, but they need more consistency from the other targets. It always seems that Miles Boykin and Willie Snead IV make very few big plays for Jackson.

The Ravens have still got the best kicker in the world in Justin Tucker and fantastic players at practically every position on the defensive side of the ball. They’re ready to roll.

Eagles Trying to Climb Out of Hole

The good news for Philadelphia is that the 1-3-1 start could be completely forgotten in a matter of weeks. The NFC East has been the league’s laughingstock this year, with the 2-3 Cowboys in first place. Dallas also lost Dak Prescott for the season, which could prove to be the turning point for Philadelphia if it can just win some games.

Truthfully speaking, injuries have been a huge reason for the Eagles’ struggles, but nobody in the organization would ever admit that. They’re playing with practice squad receivers (Travis Fulgham is great, though) and backup linemen. But, the Eagles find themselves in the game at the end, for the most part.

This is not a game Philadelphia can afford to lose, so Fulgham and Greg Ward will need to be catching every single ball fired in their vicinity.

Ravens Keep it Going, Claw Their Way to Win

A 5-1 start for Baltimore this year after a 4-2 start last year. This John Harbaugh-Jackson partnership is something special, man.
