Auburn Tigers vs. Oregon Ducks Betting Pick

It’s always exciting when two powerhouse programs meet, and it’s even better when they open the season against one another. It is a new era for Tigers football with Jarrett Stidham now with the New England Patriots, but we know that Gus Malzahn is always a step ahead. He is ready for this season to try and show that his team is very much still relevant. Auburn football has built a legacy as one of the best, and they are trying to make sure that remains.

No. 11 Oregon, on the other hand, under Nick Cristobal, is trying to continue its strong play with Justin Herbert under center for one more year. He projects to be one of the best QBs available in next year’s draft, and he has a chance yet to significantly boost his stock with a big performance this year. This team is going to go as he does, though, so if he struggles to get it going at any point, the Ducks could be in some trouble.

The spread for tonight’s game favors No. 16 Auburn by four points (AUB -4), and the over/under is set at 56.

Wanting A Good Start

The dawn of a new age. With Stidham now in the NFL, this is Bo Nix’s team, the true freshman now tasked with leading one of the biggest programs in the country. It truly is a dream come true when you can go from high-school starter to Division I college starter immediately, and Nix is out to prove his staff right for believing in him.

Running back JaTarvious Whitlow is entering just his second year as a starter and looking to improve upon a decent first year. There is a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball here.

The expectations for the Tigers despite all of the turnover will be to remain nationally-ranked throughout the year and compete to play in the College Football Playoff.

Looking To Stay Rolling

As long as they have Herbert under center, the Ducks are going to stay a force to be reckoned with. This is a team full of savvy players that are showing the world that they belong. They are well-coached and can defeat most teams simply by outscoring them. CJ Verdell returns after running for 1,000 yards a year ago, while they will be looking for receivers to step up with Dillon Mitchell’s nearly 1,200 yards not returning.

The Ducks were the No. 48 scoring defense last year and will be looking to improve upon that number. They surrendered 25 points per game but got by as they averaged 34 per game of their own.

Ducks Roll To Opening Win

Make sure you ride with Oregon tonight folks! Herbert is about to go for 400 yards and four touchdowns to kick off his senior season on a high note.

A tough loss for Auburn in the Nix debut.
