Houston Astros

Where to begin with a team that has no weak link? The Astros, for the second year in a row, have been absolutely unbelievable. From Alex Bregman to Jose Altuve to George Springer, this team just has so many guys that can come to the plate and clobber the ball.

On the other side, Justin Verlander, Gerrit Cole have been fantastic. The latter will be on the mound tonight, looking to get it going. They made a bullpen change, bringing the recently reinstated Roberto Osuna over to be the team’s closer. They just signed AJ Hinch to an extension and are ready for the playoffs.

As mentioned, they will send Gerrit Cole to the mound for his 29th start of the season. He has posted a 13-5 record with a 2.86 ERA in 176 1/3 innings of work. He has struck out 243 batters while walking 57. He was efficient in his last start against the A’s, in which he lasted 5 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and striking out seven batters.

Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox are still 53 games over .500, and a legit force to be reckoned with. An offense led by JD Martinez and Mookie Betts, who have been almost impossible to slow down, has done a tremendous job for them. Andrew Benintendi has quietly been having a very good season for the team, while Mitch Moreland has been very good. It’s one of the main reasons they cut Hanley earlier this year.

The starting rotation has gotten the job done well, and even though Chris Sale has missed a lot of the time, the team has not skipped a beat. All of their acquisitions at the trade deadline have really been paying off for them.

They will send David Price to the mound for his 27th start of the season. Price has gone 14-6, posting a 3.60 ERA in 152 1/3 innings of work. He has struck out 152 batters while walking 41. In his last start against the Marlins, he allowed three runs on five hits, so he will need to do a lot better than that.

Astros win, knock Price around

A good night is coming for the Astros, who will be able to completely ruffle David Price’s red feathers. The bats will be crushing the ball, as the offense will be tough to stop.

Six strong innings from Gerrit Cole will help keep the Sox at bay long enough for the team to make a run. Watch out for Houston.
