The first game of the 2018 postseason in the National Football League features a pair of AFC teams. The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Tennessee Titans. The Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC West with their 10-6 record on the season. Kansas City finished the regular season strong with four straight wins.
The Tennessee Titans needed a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars to seal their spot into the postseason. The Titans finished with a 9-7 record, and got some help from the Cincinnati Bengals, who beat the Baltimore Ravens. The Titans finished a game behind the Jaguars in the AFC South. The Kansas City Chiefs are -7 over the Tennessee Titans on Saturday.
There is alot of talk about how Andy Reid has not had great success in the postseason, but throw that out the door with this game. The Chiefs know they can win this game, and know they could go to Pittsburgh or New England and win as well. This is a confident football team, especially with their four game winning streak.
The Chiefs have the regular season rushing title winner. Kareem Hunt dashed for a touchdown in the win over the Broncos and won the title with 1,327 yards. Hunt also had 8 touchdowns on the ground this season. Tyreek Hill is a huge weapon as well, and he finished 17 yards shy of 1,200 on the season, with 7 touchdowns.
Titans Big Underdog
The Tennessee Titans are big underdogs in this game, but that does not phase them. The Titans will also get one less day to prepare for this game. Tennessee saw quarterback Marcus Mariota struggle passing the football most of the season. The quarterback actually threw 15 interceptions to just 13 touchdowns this season. He finished with 3,232 yards thrown.
Derrick Henry emerged late in the season as the top running back over DeMarco Murray. Henry finished with 744 yards and 5 touchdowns on the season. Delanie Walker was the top target in the passing game as he finished with 807 yards and 3 touchdowns. Tennessee reached the postseason despite losing three out of their final four games.
Chiefs Finish Titans
Alex Smith may be in his final games with the Kansas City Chiefs. That is not an issue for him, as he is ready to lead the Chiefs in the postseason. Look for Smith to manage the game much like he has done for much of the season. Smith takes care of the football and gets Hill and Hunt the ball early and often. Oh – do not forget about great tight end Travis Kelce. Too many weapons for the Chiefs and they win this game. When you bet this game – take the Kansas City Chiefs -7 over the Tennessee Titans.
