Zobian Wins Big at U.S. Poker Open

Raminder Singh, Scott Baumstein, and John Holley Succeed at WPT Rock 'N' Roll Poker Open (RRPO)

The 2024 PokerGO U.S. Poker Open is currently taking place at the Aria Casino in Las Vegas, and the first six events have been completed. Each tournament represents a chance to win some money, but there is also a leaderboard that keeps track of all of the events.

Event number 6 was just recently completed and it was Aram Zobian that came away with the win to remain atop the leaderboard. Zobian now has six cashes so far through the six events, and he took home the biggest prize with a win in this event.

This was as $15,100 No-Limit Hold-Em Event that had 62 total entrants in the field that had a solid guarantee of money. Zobian won over $264,000 by winning the top prize in this event, but he couldn’t win the total top prize.

When the heads up play at this event began, Zobian had a 2:1 chip lead over Sam Laskowitz that started to shrink quickly. The two decided to make a deal to split up the final pot, and that allowed Laskowitz to take home $219,310 with a second place finish.

Joey Weissman had a fourth place finish at this event, and he is another player that has already had some success at this event.

Negreanu Denied in Event Number 5

Daniel Negreanu has been on a roll since the calendar flipped to 2024, and it looked as if he was going to pick up another win at this event. Negreanu entered Event Number 5 and he got all the way to heads up play in this event.

There were 92 total entrants into the $10,100 No-Limit Hold’Em Event, and that number was trimmed to just six final contestants in a hurry. Matthew Wantman from the United States was the other player in heads up action, and he was determined to battle with the poker legend.

Those two players went back and forth for a number of hands before luck seemed to leave Negreanu in a hurry in this event. Wantman was able to finish this event off with a win as he took home $239,200.

Some other big names were able to come up with some big wins in previous events, and the U.S. Poker Open is known for having some big payouts. Erik Seidel was also at the final table at Event #5 and he has had a great run.

A Look at the Leaderboard

The final event at the U.S. Poker Open began on April 16th, and things will conclude when that event wraps up. There are still a number of points available in the final event, but Zobian has a massive lead on the rest of the field.

Zobian entered the final tournament with 569 total points in this event, and he has already won $535,540 so far through six events. Jesse Lonis is still in the mix as well, but he will need a win in the final event to take over the leaderboard.
