WSOP Planet Hollywood Online Circuit Series Wrapped Up

A World Series of Poker Circuit tournament took place virtually, called the Planet Hollywood Online Circuit series, awarding a total of 12 gold rings to the best players in their respective events. The circuit ran for a total of 12 days, starting February 17th and ending on February 28th.

Some popular poker players managed to secure a ring for themselves, and one of them was Jared Jaffee, a WSOP bracelet winner. He managed to top Event #1: $50,000 GTD NLH Freezeout and earned $23,804 for his effort. It was not an easy job, as he had to grind through the fields of 417 entries.

Two days after that, it was time for Ari Engel to win a ring. He had a somewhat easier job, as he played against a 157-strong field in Event #3: $50,000 GTD PLO Big $500. Engel managed to earn a total of $16,350. More importantly, he won his 10th WSOPC ring, becoming one of the best players to have participated in Circle events.

Ralph Perry, who uses the online moniker “sosana” topped Event #2: $75,000 NLH, whereas Steve “gborooo” Gross received a ring for winning in Event #5: $150,000 GTD Monster Stack.

Andrew “WATCHGUY42” Lichtenberger won in Event #7: $100,000 GTD High Roller. These were just some of the winners in the Planet Hollywood Online Circuit Series. All of them became eligible for taking part in the $250K GTD WSOP Online Circuit Championship. Apart from winning a gold ring in the 2021 season of WSOPC, players can enroll for this prestigious event by topping the $10K Player of the Month leaderboard or by winning a Second CHance Fast Forward. Finally, they need to be one of the top 50 players on the Cumulative Circuit Leaderboard.

A total of 470 unique players applied, with 253 of them re-buying their place into the event, resulting in a 723-entry field and the final prize pool of $361,500. The top 100 finishers got paid.

After 11 and a half hours of great poker action, Derek “rickyguan” Sudell managed to win against “jnja1719” in a heads-up play, winning a total of $57,623.
