WSOP Planet Hollywood Main Event Won by Benjamin Zamani

The 2018 WSOP Planet Hollywood Main Event has come to an end with Benjamin Zamani earning his first WSOPC gold ring with the win. A total of 610 players competed in the event with Zamani up against several top pros during the final table, including Barry Hutter and Joseph Cheong. In the end, Zamani would be able to earn the first-place win, taking home just over $192,000 for his efforts.

Once the final table was determined, Zamani would be ready to compete. He was second in chips going into the final table but soon took the lead after sending Joseph Cheong home in 8th place and then taking out two players at once during four-handed play.

By the time the event had whittled down to four players remaining, Zamani held a huge chip advantage. He had over 10 million in chips while his three competitors had less than 2 million spread between them. Because of his huge lead, Zamani was able to knock out Scott Powrie and Barry Hutter to move on to face Benjamin Palmer in heads-up play.

It was unfair really, as heads-up began, as Zamani held a more than 20 to 1 chip lead over his opponent. On the first hand of the match-up, Zamani would go all-in from the button and was called by Palmer. Zamani held 10-7 of clubs while Palmer showed J-2 of hearts. The board kept Palmer in the lead with A-K-J but a Queen on the turn gave Zamani a straight and the 3 on the river would secure the win for the pro.
