Michael Persky, a Novato poker player, has reaped big since January. He won $175,595 six weeks ago in the first World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) Graton Main Event. Yet, he signed up for the WSOPC Thunder Valley $1,700 Buy-In Main Event and won the $170,780 first-place prize.
The WSOPC Thunder Valley stop took place between September 28 and October 9. It comprised 13 Circuit ring tournaments and had an almost $1 million prize pool.
Even so, the stop’s Main Event featured 594 players and had an $899,910 prize pool. Persky beat Tracy Oto in the last level and sent him packing in second place.

Persky’s Second Ring
Persky’s latest victory earned him his second WSOPC Main title and gold ring. He advanced to the Graton Main Event’s final table to compete for the top prize with Xing Wei, Jonathan Wang, John Koo, Derrick Geliberte, and Fan You (Event No.2: $400 No-Limit Hold’em-The Opener’s champion).
Still, Persky has a great WSOP profile, which shows his current stunning form. His two gold ring wins are among his four WSOP payouts, as he won $54,900 after finishing second in the WSOPC Graton Event No.3: $600 No-Limit Hold’em and $1,077 after finishing 20th in the WSOPC Graton opening tournament.
The poker pro has immense experience in several poker variants. The Hendon Mob indicates that he has $430,687 in live event earnings. He made his first score in the San Francisco Gold Rush Bonanza tournament in 2004 when he finished fourth with $3,890.
Valentin Vornicu Adds Another Gold Ring
Other poker players besides Persky won big at the WSOPC Thunder Valley stop. Valentin Vornicu from San Diego bagged his 13th Circuit ring and a $11,000 top prize in Event No.9: $600 2-7 Triple Draw.
The Californian poker expert bagged another gold ring and $24,084 after winning the 2018 WSOPC Harrah’s New Orleans tournament. His recent victory improved his position in the current all-time ring competition.
Vornicu is fifth after Daniel Lowery, Josh Reichard, Maurice Hawkins, and Ari Engel. Engel is leading with 16 rings, while Hawkins has 15 rings.
The recent Thunder Valley stop awarded other players various cash prizes. Fan You won his first gold ring and $76,100 in Event No.2: $400 No-Limit Hold’em-The Opener. Lian Liu won his third ring and $8,250 in Event No.13: $400 No-Limit Hold’em-Series Finale.
Horseshoe Hammond has been hosting the WSOPC Circuit since October 5, and it will end on October 16. Still, Harrah’s Pompano Beach will hold the Circuit between October 12 and 23.
