WPT Welcomes Back Vanessa Selbst

Vanessa Selbst is one of the most successful players in the world of poker, and she decided to return to the game — news that many poker fans welcomed. Apart from returning to the felt, Selbts will also teach poker via World Poker Tour’s official learning platform called LearnWPT.

Vanessa decided to leave poker back in 2017. She had a great knowledge in the field of risk analysis and positive expected value bets, and that’s why she decided to work for a successful hedge fund and put her skills to good use.

Needless to say, her talent worked pretty well in her other job, as she managed to make calculated investments by analyzing macroeconomics, taking into account the events happening in the world.

However, Selbst started a family, and her priorities changed once again, as she required a job that gives more flexibility. That’s when poker came into her life once again.

Vanessa did not take long to get back into the game, as she recorded a deep run in September 2019, when she took part at WPT Borgata Poker Open. Moreover, she also had a great run in WPT FallsView Main Event that took place in February 2020.

The time for Vanessa to return to poker isn’t great, as there are not many live poker options available in the world right now due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On the other hand, there are plenty of cash games and tournaments taking place online, and Vanessa is looking forward to taking part in this type of event.

Vanessa’s Accomplishments as a Poker Player

Vanessa Selbst managed to achieve many great things as a poker player. So far, she has won a total of three gold bracelets in the World Series of Poker events. Moreover, she managed to reach many WPT final tables and earn almost $12 million by playing live poker events.

Selbst currently holds a very interesting record — she is the highest-earning female poker player in the world. Her biggest live cash was in €7,750 + 750 No Limit Hold ’em – Main Event, which was part of the Partouche Poker Tour – PPT in Cannes where she managed to win a total of $1,823,430 for topping that event.

Moreover, she won $1,424,420 after topping the $25,000 + 500 No Limit Hold ’em – High Roller (Event #30) which was part of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure – PCA 2013. You can read more about her live poker winnings on her official Hendon Mob profile.

Apart from playing poker, Vanessa has been very passionate about teaching the game. In fact, she was a coach to some of the best poker players in the world today. That’s why she decided to return to poker in every possible way, including the return to teaching.

Vanessa has a very aggressive style of play, and that’s what she’ll teach in her LearnWPT course. Everyone who wants to learn useful strategies and how to obtain her championship mindset will definitely enjoy her course.
