The World Poker Tour (WPT) is returning with WPTDeepStacks online series, running on 888poker. The tournament starts on November 28 running through December 21. The festival comprises 28 events and a guaranteed prize of $3 million.
Players will enter any events with a buy-in of not less than $55 and not more than $5,200. Those who do not want to pay the buy-in and still want to participate in the event can play the ongoing satellites for as little as $0.01 to stand a chance to win a seat to the WPT DeepStacks tournament.
WPT and 888poker Partnership
WPT and 888poker are partnering for the second time to run WPTDeepStacks. The first time the two partnered was in April 2021 to offer a similar series with a guarantee of $2 million. Another difference was that the tournament featured 16 events, 16 less than the upcoming event.
Over 1080 entered the Main Event generating a prize pool of $1,087,000. Brazil’s “paulinhoo00” won the event earning $233,705.
The WPT Vice President for Global Tour Management, Angelica Hael, said the brand was excited to partner with 888poker again this year. She said the tournament would give players across the world an opportunity to win the WPTDS trophy.
Amit Berkovich, head of 888poker, echoed Hael’s remarks. Amit was also excited about the partnership, saying the upcoming series would offer the prestige feel of live-action and allow players to win a WPTDS title.
The Highlight of the Series
WPTDeepStacks Main Event is the highlight of the series. With a buy-in of $1,050 and a guarantee of $1 million, this event will have ten starting flights beginning on December 5.
Players can enter the event at a lesser fee by playing satellites or participating in freerolls on 888poker every day. These events will give over $200k in satellites and sub-satellite tickets.
There are other major events you can watch out for. Some of these will live stream on the Twitch channel, 888pokerTV. One of the events going live on 888pokerTV is the Main Event’s final table on December 21.
Another highlight of the event is a Mini Main Event with a buy-in of $55 with a $75k guarantee. High stake rollers can take part in the Super High Roller with a $5,200 buy-in coming with a $200,000 guarantee.
