We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort Adds Eight New Sports Betting Booths

It is one year since We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort in Arizona launched its services in Arizona. The casino is lucky to start its new year by venturing into the sports betting industry. On Tuesday, the casino introduced eight sports betting booths throughout its floor.

These are self-service booths allowing bettors to wager on sports whenever they want. The platform will accept several types of bets, including futures, props, parlays, and others.

The casino operator divided the number of sports betting booths into two. The first four booths sit on the casino gaming floor, while the other four are at the WKP Sports & Entertainment restaurant.

Booths on the casino gaming floor ensure that players do not have to leave the gaming floor to place sports bets or claim their winnings. On the other hand, booths in the restaurant present visitors of the eatery to have a casual dining experience, bet on sports and watch the game on TV to see how the game turns out. Moreover, bettors can attend football parties on Mondays where they will also watch various ongoing sports games.

We-Ko-Pa Becomes a One-Stop Gaming Venue

While We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort launched in the fall of 2020, it has a rich history. The casino is owned and operated by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation. The tribe first opened a gaming business, Baja Bingo, in Arizona in 1984.

Baja Bingo was renamed the Fort McDowell Casino in 1992 and has operated under that brand name for 28 years, awaiting October 2020 changes. With We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort opening last year in October, Fort McDowell closed its doors.

Since the first time the tribe launched a gambling venue in 1984, it has been instrumental in asking for a permit to own and run its casino in the state and other parts of the country. In 2020, the tribe got its wish and opened We-Ko-Pa Casino.

The casino has over 800 slot machines, a 750-seat bingo venue, and offers table games day and night. The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, especially its representatives, can now celebrate following the casino’s new ability to provide all types of gambling. Through a partnership with BetFred Sports, We-Ko-Pa can now offer its guests sports betting services.

Apart from being an elite gaming venue, the resort also has a AAA Four-Diamond hotel, sitting close to several golf courses and other amenities offered by Fort McDowell Adventures. Also, guests can enjoy a vast selection of dining preferences on the property.

Sports Betting Expansion

Arizona legalized sports betting in 2019. This led to many mobile sportsbooks applying for operating licenses in the state. Even land-based casinos partnered with various sportsbooks to offer sports betting on their premises.

We-Ko-Pa Casino partnered with one of the most extensive sportsbooks, BetFred Sports. The sports brand has operated in the UK market for over five decades, making it a highly sought-after sportsbook. By partnering with We-Ko-Pa, BetFred can offer players sports betting in a more convenient place.

Having self-service betting booths in Arizona is just one step toward Betfred’s goal. The brand plans to open a BetFred Sportsbook. This will also be located at the We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort.

The launch of the sportsbook will make Arizona the fourth state to offer sports betting through BetFred Sports. Also, the sports brand plans to go to Nevada next.
