Tobias Schwecht Wins $727K in GGOC Main Event

Tobias Schwecht emerged victorious on May 30, 2022. He was declared the Main Event champion in the $150 million guaranteed GG online poker competition. Schwecht beat 6,107 players and took home $727,640 from a massive $8,702,475 prize pool after getting in a four-way deal.

In 2020, Deividas Daubaris won an online World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet after he came second behind Orhan Ates in a $525 Bounty No-Limit Hold ’em six handed tournament. Winning this tournament amends for his previous loss.

The Main Event’s Final Table

During day two, 700 out of 916 players earned some money from their $1500 investments. Nine finalists went home with a minimum of $96,072. This sum was what Japan’s Joyras walked away with in ninth place.

The renowned poker pro, Michael Addamo, walked away with $128,114 in eighth place. Tobias Duthweiler followed his countryman after finishing sixth with $227,823.

Elaine0605 from China emerged fifth and gained $303,807. Players halted the event and discussed how to reduce the jumps’ impact. They reached an agreement and continued playing.

Daniel Smiljkovic was fourth and got $690,222. Russia’s Arsenii Malinov finished third and won $637,583, while Schwecht went head-to-head with Roman Hrabec.

Schwecht emerged victorious with an impressive $727,640, and Hrabec settled for runners-up with $571,112 to show for his efforts. Hrabec sold 50 percent of his action, which enabled Douglas Ferreira’s stake investment to rise to over $280,000.

Ladva and Drovess Win

The $25,500 Sunday Million SHR attracted 77 participants, resulting in a $1,925,000 prize pool. David Drovess took home most of the money, $423,845.

Ottomar Ladva, the previous Super MILLION$ winner, received $379,372 after being the runners up. Drovess put Ladva in a checkmate position and chopped heads up that enabled his win. Ladhva sold 45 percent of his action; Chunlei Zhou bought 43.4 percent of that stake.

Luck wasn’t on Sam Greenwood’s side as his exit saw players who had chips won $45,486 and above. The final table was a must-watch even though Joao Veira and Francisco Benitez did not make it after cashing out.

Adrian Mateos, Ole Schemion, and Mikalai Vasaboinikau got eliminated before Thomas, and Steven Chidwick joined them. This left only four players to continue playing and win the tournament. Elio Fox left the event, and Dimitar Danchev, a former PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Main Event champion joined him later.

Other players also took home more than $30,000. Ramiro Petrone won the $5,250 Bounty Hunters Super High Rollers and took home $148,749 in the process. Matheus Schell is now worth $147,672 after winning the $525 Bounty Hunters Main Event.
