Wynn Las Vegas’ 2022 World Poker Tour (WPT) World Championship had a $29 million pot and $15 million guaranteed prize pool. Yet, the 2023 WPT will have a $10,400 buy-in and a $40 million pool, a record-breaking guarantee.
The No-Limit Hold’em poker event will take place between December 12 and 21 constituting the WPT Festival that will begin on November 29. A six-handed final table will be live-streamed on December 21 as each finalist will focus on the eight-figure first-place prize.
The forthcoming WPT Championship will be the first $10,000 tournament after the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event to have such a huge field. Poker analysts predict that its turnout will surpass that of the 2022 Championship.

Reaching such a large guaranteed prize pool isn’t a walk in the park for poker organizers as they have to allow re-entry besides having one of several Day 1 sessions. The upcoming WPT World Championship’s schedule has many exciting tournaments. The $600 No-Limit Hold’em with a $1,000,000 guarantee and $600 Limit Omaha/8 with a $60,000 guarantee will kick off the series on November 29.
The $1 million Buy-In WPT Big One for One Drop tournament will occur on December 18 and 19. It will be the first non-WSOP seven-figure charity event to take place in the country.
The $1,600 Mystery Bounty will kick off on December 4 with a $2,000,000 prize pool. Then, a $1,100 Buy-In No-Limit Hold’em tournament will begin on December 7 with a $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool and its Day 1 will constitute four starting flights as Stephen Song aims to retain the title.
The $1,100 Ladies Championship will return to the tour on December 6. The Hold’em event will last for three days and Lina Niu will strive to retain or improve her 2022 performance in the Championship.
