Super High Roller Bowl – Isaac Haxton Wins

$300,000 Super High Roller Bowl came to an end with Isaac Haxton topping the field of 36 entrants and winning a total of $3,672,000. This was his best score ever in his poker career.

Haxton gave a short statement for Poker Central, claiming that he was very happy to have won his biggest score and best accomplishment ever. This has definitely been the highlight of his career of poker tournaments so far.

However, Haxton is not new to poker, and his all-time earnings surpassed $20 million with the latest win. At the moment, he has a total of $23,654,396 in live tournament earnings, as reported by The Hendon Mob. In fact, he went up seven places in the all-time money list – from the 20th to the 13th place. Haxton managed to surpass some of his colleagues who are all legendary poker players such as Mikita Badziakouski, Sam Trickett, Brian Rast, Phil Hellmuth, Jason Koon, Scott Seiver, and Jake Schindler.

SHRB announced at the end of October that heir rake-free tournament with a $300,000 would change from May to December. This is the first time in the tournament’s history that the field did not reach the maximum capacity as only 36 entrants applied to it.

The final table consisted of seven players, and most of them were already familiar poker names from all over the world. The first player to bust on the seventh place was Ali Imsirovic from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was soon followed by Igor Kurganov, a famous poker player from Russia who ended up sixth. The fifth place was reserved from the Spanish player Adrian Mateos, and the last four players were the UK vs. the US as two players came from each country.

Team UK lost the four-way as Talal Shakerchi and Stephen Chidwick busted on the fourth and the third place respectively. The last part of the tournament was between two US players – Alex Foxen and Isaac Haxton.

The heads-up play started with Foxen having a small chip lead over Haxton. However, Haxton needed one hand to not only regain chip lead but also get a 2:1 advantage in the number of chips. He gained momentum and started gaining even bigger chip lead. Before the final hand was played, Haxton dominated with a 7:1 chip lead.

The last hand was pretty exciting as Haxton decided to four-bet jam with king-jack in his hand. Foxen decided to call as he had an ace-eight. The flop looked good for Foxen as he still had the highest hand in his hand. However, both the turn and the river showed cards that were suitable for Haxton who was able to make a double pair and win the tournament. That was a really unexpected turn of events, and Haxton was not only skillful but also had a lot of luck in the last hand in the tournament.
