The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, is hosting the World Poker Tour (WPT). The 2022 WPT Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open (RRPO) is ongoing as the $3,500 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Main Event leads the premier series.

Players who won titles in the 2022 RRPO include AJ Kelsall ($13,625 in Event No.5: $600 HORSE), Salvatore Pipitone ($16,900 in Event No.9: $600 Limit Omaha 8), Michael Newman ($7,136 in Event No.18: $400 Deep Stack Turbo NLH), David Goodis ($9,450 in Event No.23: $400 Black Chip Bounty 5-Card PLO) and Danival Gheba ($9,550 in Event No.27: $400 Black Chip Bounty Turbo).

Peter Hsu Tops Florida’s Third Biggest Field Ever

Event No.1: $400 Deep Stack NLH kicked off the 2022 RRPO. It attracted 6,134 players who created a $2,024,200 prize pool and doubled the $1 million guarantee. The event took place between November 16 and November 21 and had the third-largest field in the state.

The event had a five-way deal in which Peter Hsu, the chip leader, won the $191,223 first-place prize and trophy after firing a $400 bullet. He stated that he likes playing in huge tournaments.

Scott Baumstein Bags His Sixth SHRP Title

Event No.12: $400 Deep Stack NLH attracted 515 players who formed a $172,525 prize pool. Scott Baumstein was the last man standing as he won his sixth SHRP trophy hence tying with Michael Newman. Also, he is behind five players only in the titles count.

Baumstein’s win came after beating Hagai Stein in a heads-up match. Each of them won $27,965 in prize money.

Newman won $17,589 in Event No.18: $400 Deep Stack Turbo NLH the following day after beating 106 opponents. Baumstein’s SHRP titles include:

  • $220,238 in the 2018 LHPO $1,100 WPT DeepStacks Championship
  • $28,040 in the 2021 LHPO $600 Double Black Chip Bounty

John Holley’s Consecutive Wins

John Holley topped in Event No.14: $600 Deep Stack Pot-Limit Omaha and had a day’s rest before proceeding to Day 2. The poker expert won his fifth SHRP title and $8,950 in Event No.16: $400 Omaha 8/Stud after topping an 83-entry field on the day off.

He resumed playing on Tuesday and won $30,191 in Event No.14 after its final table’s four-way deal. Holley also won back-to-back trophies at the August 2013 SHRPO. His SHRP titles include;

  • $5,919 in the 2013 SHRPO $240 PLO8 event
  • $9,207 in the 2013 SHRPO $240 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em event
  • $5,304 in the 2015 RRPO $350 Six-Max No-Limit Hold’em event
