2017 has been a good year so far for poker pro Bryn Kenney. The poker player has already made several final tables as well as earn four title wins. Just this past week, Kenney was able to claim another win, this time during the PokerStars Championship Monte Carlo Super High Roller event. This tournament had a buy-in of €100,000 and saw 61 players vying for the top finish. Kenney outlasted them all and claimed the first place prize of €1,784,500 in the process.
Many top players competed in the Super High Roller event including comedian and movie star Kevin Hart. Hart has played in several PokerStars events this year and made an appearance in Monte Carlo, trying his skills at the Super High Roller event. Hart ended up busting out and rebuying, only to be eliminated yet again.
When final table play began, Kenney would be sitting at the felt as the chip leader, with only nine players remaining. Kenney would continue to build his chip stack by eliminating Steffen Sontheimer in 6th and Ole Schemion in 5th. In the end, it would be Kenney facing off against Viacheslav Buldygin in heads up play with Kenney holding an almost 5 to 1 chip lead.
Despite the big lead, it would take some time before the final hand would take place. In the end, both would be all-in with Kenny holding pocket 2s and Buldygin holding K-Q diamonds. The board ran 6-3-2-9-8 giving Kenney the title win. Speaking with PokerStars Blog, Kenney stated that he is feeling good and playing good this year, and its where he feels most comfortable, when asked about his recent success with high roller events.
