A report was released at PokerNews yesterday which stated that poker player Matt Marafioti may be part of an online poker scheme. The poker news site found a thread on poker forum TwoPlusTwo which stated that Marafioti is being accused of hole card hacking with Samer Rahman, an IT expert.
Rumors began surfacing last week when an unknown person posted a Skype conversation which was said to have taken place between Marafioti and Rahman. The post was placed on TwoPlusTwo and the two apparently discussed hacking Will Molson’s computer. Molson is a poker pro from Canada, known by the name molswi47 online. The point of hacking Molson’s computer was so that Marafioti could view Molson’s hole cards.
The Skype conversation showed Marafioti stating: “Let’s def get molswi. I can access his computers I think and he will play me all day.” both Rahman and Marafioti have stated two different stories in relation to the Skype log. Marafioti stated that Rahman and he are friends but the Skype convo had been doctored. However, Rahman denied that he was even friends with Marafioti.
Posters at TwoPlusTwo continued the discussion and posted many different photos of both Rahman and Marafioti together. The pictures confirm that the two definitely have some type of relationship together. Adding more proof to the allegations to the story was William Reynolds, a friend of Marafioti. Reynolds posted several Twitter messages sent from Marafioti about Molson, to Reynolds account.
This is not the first time that Rahman has been involved in a poker scandal. He was also connected to Mohamed Kowssarie, who was accused of stealing millions from Johnny Lodden and Patrik Antonius back in 2007 with a hacking scheme. Antonius came out stating that Kowssarie placed a Trojan virus on his computer which allowed Kowssarie to view his hole cards. Kowssarie denied the claims.
