The Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas recently hosted the last 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament, Event No.95: $1,000 Super Turbo No-Limit Hold’em. It attracted 1,482 players who created a $1,318,980 prize pool.
Yet, the one-day tournament ended after 12 hours of intense play and Paul Berger took the bracelet home. He won the $212,645 top prize after beating other talented players like John Juanda, Daniel Negreanu, Jen Harman, Jesse Sylvia, Eric Froehlich, Ben Yu, Gabriel Schroeder, and Bryan Piccioli.

Action Highlights
The event had an average stack when players set its final table. so, its action was fast-paced most of the day. Tai Cao used less than five big blinds to shove from the small blind and got busted in ninth place when they failed to improve after their opponent called them.
Alex Zhang followed Cao in eighth place after several minutes after his aces lost to his rival’s rivered trip tens. Still, Hon Cheong Lee finished seventh after Dzivielevski beat them in a coin flip.
Kafton Ramsamooj’s run ended in sixth place when they went all-in from a big blind, failed to improve and Ramsamooj busted them. One elimination occurred at each level at that time. Michael Liang fell in a quiet hand and finished fifth.
Miguel Cardoso lost his chips to Dzivielevski and left the table in fourth place. Santiago Plante followed Cardoso in third place despite making many busts in the tournament’s last levels. The former wagered his chips in a dominating hand but drew after the river completed Berger’s wheel.
Plante’s exit set up a tough battle between Berger and Dzivielevski. Berger used the pair to go underway, almost evening the chips. He exchanged the stack lead with Dzivielevski several times.
Even so, Berger swung pots to get the last chip lead after a small flush helped him beat Dzivielevski for a medium-sized pot. The latter made a button shove before the former called him. But, he lost his chips and finished second with $131,408.
Berger’s Reaction After Winning
Berger is a regular poker player based in Las Vegas. Yet, he visited the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas casino to try his luck with his remaining bank account balance. He stunned his rail when he received the bracelet and top prize after playing for a few hours.
The winner urged his opponents in the latest tournament to try their luck next year. The just concluded 2023 WSOP had a huge field, and many players are eagerly waiting for next year’s poker series.
