Patrik Antonius Is the Historic $1,978,000 Pot Winner

Patrik Antonius won a $1,978,000 million pot, the largest one in a national live stream. It surpassed the previous $1,158,000 pot from Hustler Casino Live (HCL). Even so, the largest recorded broadcast was a $2,353,500 pot from Tom Dwan and Paul Phua’s Triton Poker hand.

Antonius stunned many poker fans in 2022 when he made an unexpected call. Besides, he won the biggest online poker pot, worth $1,356,947 after beating Viktor “Isildur1” Blom in 2009 on Full Tilt Poker.

Reports show that Tony G won a $1,820,783 pot in January 2020 against Leon Tsoukernik on CoinPoker, thus causing controversy on whether Antonius’ pot still holds the record.

The live hand occurred on the third day of No Gamble, No Future “Cash of the Titans.” Six entrants made $1 million buy-ins and raised $100,000 for the player who would make the largest profit in the tournament.

Each participant held two $500,000 bullets and had an opportunity to make the full $1 million buy-in or begin with $500,000 and increase later. But, they started playing at $500/$500 with increasing blinds. Everyone decided to kick off the event with $500,000, and each day had two three-hour levels.

More Details About the Hand

The game began with $1,000/$2,000/$2,000 blinds, with Eric Persson calling the shots in the first 30 minutes. He used {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to make a $7,000 raise from the hijack. Rob Yong used {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} to make a button call prompting Antonius to at the small blind’s {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} before making a $30,000 pop.

Yong and Persson called before the flop revealed {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. Antonius got a nut flush draw and staked $40,000 in a $94,000 pot. Still, Persson made a $140,000 snap raise using an inferior flush draw.

Persson called as the turn revealed {a-Spades}. Antonius had a high chance to get the hand and opted to wager $150,000 as Persson went all in with $692,000. The former was left with $542,000 and called off after 10 seconds.

All players had decided that each all-in pot would run once without deals. Thus, Antonious got an almost $2 million pot after {j-Spades} run on the river.

Jeff Platt, a commentator named it the largest pot in the country’s broadcasted poker history. Brent Hanks, a co-host, stated that the tournament was extraordinary.

Yet, Persson had only $67,000 left before losing it. He had used his last $500,000 bullet hence getting busted according to the game’s rules.

Robl’s Bags a $1,269,000 Pot

Antonius participated in another big pot after several minutes. Persson used {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} to act first, and Antonius used pocket nines to make a $10,000 button raise. Andrew Robl used {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to place a $52,000 three-bet from a big blind as Persson folded.

The flop revealed {q-}{9-}{8-} after Antonius called. He got a set, and Robl received a straight from two spades. The latter had a $65,000 lead when the former called.

The dealer turned {3-Spades} after burning. Robl wagered $140,000 in a $140,000 pot. Antonius called, and {4-Hearts} appeared on the river.

Robl wagered $375,000 before Antonius called. Unfortunately, the latter’s move was insufficient to earn him the $1,269,000 pot.
