Moneymaker Wins Big in Montenegro

Limpegutten Wins PokerStars Sunday Million

The Triton Super High Roller Series just recently kicked off in Montenegro, and there are some great players set to compete. Not all of the tournaments are going to be won by the biggest names in the live poker scene, but that was the case in the first event of the series.

The $25,000 GGMillion$ Live was won by Chris Moneymaker, and he is one of the most successful players of all-time. Not only is Moneymaker the 2023 WSOP Main Event Champion, but he has also won a number of big events throughout his career.

There were 163 total players in this field, and there were other Hall of Fame poker players competing for this massive prize. The payout at this event was $903,000, and it was his third largest win all-time.

After winning this massive event, Moneymaker made it clear that he had some excellent luck to go along with some skilled play. Even though there were other players trying to keep the pressure on, Moneymaker just continued to have the best hands and actions throughout the tournament.

Despite having a ton of worldwide success throughout his poker career, this was actually the first Triton Poker title that Moneymaker has ever won. Moneymaker has now won a total of $7.1 million playing poker, which is the most all-time from the state of Tennessee.

Other Big Names

The final table at this tournament was basically a “Who’s Who” of poker players, and there was some big money handed out. Another player from the United States, Brian Kim, had a big run and took home $609,000 with a second place finish.

There was a pretty significant drop in the total prize money as players were eliminated, but that is typically the case with every poker tournament. Igor Yaroshevsky from Ukraine took home over $400,000 by winning third place in this event, but he never really made a serious run at Moneymaker.

Each of the top eight players at this event were able to win at least $110,000, but there were nine players at the final table. Isaac Haxton was the third player from the U.S. at the final table, but he walked away with just $91,300.

More Tournaments Coming

Since this is a High Roller Series, you are going to see some big names every single tournament. This event is only going to last three days, and that’s much shorter than some of the other top events that seemingly drag on for weeks.

There were actually two events crammed into the first two days of the Triton Super High Roller Series, and players had to decide which tournament to enter. The final event of this is a $31,800 No-Limit Hold’Em event, and that will come with a top payout of more than $1 million.

All of this high roller events are a way for players to get in some great poker action in advance of the World Series of Poker that is coming later.
